Welcoming atmosphere and nicely decorated surroundings. Well kept ales on tap and a nice bottle of Malbec with lunch. Crayfish and garlic mushroom starters followed by a great roast. Only gripe was the quality of the meat - sometimes hard to tell though from a chefs point of view. Certainly be going back as the normal menu looked good to.

Took my elderly mum and disabled brother here for lunch. Had a fabulous game casserole with sweet potato mash. The staff were really friendly and the menu was really imaginative.

I'd heard good things about he Cross Keys so popped in for a quick lunch with friends. We waited forty minutes for a ciabatta whilst the pub was very quiet. The cheese and ham ciabatta lacked filling and the ham was fatty. They chips were oily and there were very few. To top it off, my pint of Stella didn't... More

Took 21 family members ranging in age from 92 to1 for a Boxing day lunch at this Pub following a recommendation of a Portuguese friend! As could be expected this smallish pub was very busy however all the staff were friendly with just the right amount of attentiveness and patience, especialy with the order taking from the extensive varied menu.... I've known this pub for many years under several different owners. The current owners have done it up very nicely and brought out the features of the old building. It has a warm welcoming atmosphere and on a cold evening open fires in both rooms. As long as I've known this pub it has done really nice real ales and... More

Really recommend this pub. Lovely atmosphere, fantastic service. We visited Bath for a couple of days and were looking for somewhere to eat. We fell upon The Cross Keys and they were fantastic! Served us early despite the kitchen not opening until 6pm! The young lady behind the bar is a real asset to the pub - everything you'd hope... More

This pub has an ambiance between a "pub" and a gastropub and is all the better for it. The roast partridge a particular stand-out. Service was also up to scratch. The only niggle was the starter of chicken wings in spicy sauce which was a "mean" dish consisting of the end of the wing, rather than the knuckle which was... More

We really enjoy Sunday lunches at the Cross Keys. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The menu is varied enough and there is always a good mix of specials on the board.

Popped in with my family for dinner on a Wednesday evening and was surprised to see how busy the pub was. A great menu with plenty of choice for all. The pork belly and hunters chicken were the stars of the show!! I'd definitely recommend a visit.

Ate here as the Forester and Flower was not serving food, they booked this for us instead. Very friendly welcome, and a warm feeling all round with all the staff and other customers. Prompt service, a good specials board, and tasty home cooked food. I had Ham Egg and Chips, swapping chips for new potatoes. Other family members had a... More
