Brilliant night at Franks. Fantastic food. So pleased to find a restaurant that gives its clientele a fantastic food experience. We had scallops, followed by lamb that was so tender we could have used plastic knives to cut. Could not manage a desert but had...floater coffees. Wonderful night out. Thank you Frank.More

The food here was superb. I had the lamb and my girlfriend had the pork. Both were brilliant, the lamb in particular was perfectly cooked. Great little quiet spot in Cheddar and the lady who served us was very nice and friendly, gave us some...tips for what to do in Cheddar for the remainder of our time here.More

Great find. We booked on line after reading the lovely reviews and we weren’t disappointed. Extremely friendly and lovely food. Salmon crab tian to start and sole for main. Beautifully presented and so tasty. Will definitely be back next time we are in cheddar.

Sandra, my wife has to be very careful what she eats owing to damage caused to her stomach through food poisoning many years ago. She hates to make a fuss on the day so we contact/visit places a few days before to make sure they...can cater for her needs. To be fair, we only contacted Frank the day before however he could not have been more understanding and caring, going out of his way to make sure that Sandra enjoyed the same quality, variety and quantity of food that the rest of us were served. His approach made all the difference to our evening with friends as it meant that she felt no different to the rest of us rather than an inconvenience as she has sometimes been made to feel in other restaurants. All of the dishes served were outstanding in both presentation and taste. Thank you Frank and Sue - we'll be back again for sure! Jules and Sandra xxMore

On our 4th Anniversary me and my fiancée decided to treat ourselves to a nice meal and chose Frank's after seeing the menu online. What can I say? We were extremely happy with our choice. Service was excellent from the moment we walked in from...the terrible rain outside. You can tell the owners are extremely passionate about what they do. We went for a three course meal at the very reasonable price of £36/person. We had the Tortellini & Cheese Souffle; Duck & Partridge; Chocolate Melt & Key Lime Pie. Every part was exquisite and we would highly recommend!More

The best roast lunch ever! Sue was so kind and lovely and the food was impeccable! We had the ham hock and pork belly to start and then roast duck and roast pork belly. We started our day in Gloucester quays and spontaneously decided to...drive down after seeing the reviews of franks! Everyone should go ☺️More

We had a fabulous meal at Franks Restaurant, everything was freshly cooked. I had scallop on a crab cake with bearnaise sauce followed by red-legged partridge with Madeira sauce and my husband had tortelloni followed by lamb slowly braised and also a rack of lamb...perfectly cooked pink with a calvados sauce. We would thoroughly recommend this restaurant if you want fine dining without the extortionate prices, we have been to Michelin starred restaurants and this one is just as good.More

Last minute booking tonight and weren’t disappointed with anything. Lovely small, quaint restaurant, food was super tasty and service was brilliant as well, very attentive. Sue was really friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately didn’t get to meet Frank as he was busy in the kitchen. We...had the pigeon and prawn crepe for starter. The prawn bisque that accompanied I could have just had a massive bowl with bread. The mains we had lamb rump and the beef which were both really lovey. The meat melted in your mouth. Dessert we had Paris Brest and key lime pie. I’m not a dessert person but would definitely have either of those again. All very reasonably priced. Highly recommend and we will definitely be backMore

Another perfect quality meals at Franks. High end place for quality, and yet friendly and not pretentious. Even our 13 year old tried everything (except brocolli) and said it was 10 out of 10. One of my personal favourites. Lovely atmosphere.

Visited Frank’s for an evening meal on 25/6/21 and it didn’t disappoint. This is a class restaurant on every level. It is small and cosy with linen table cloths and serviettes. Sue (Frank’s wife) works the front of house and creates a relaxed and friendly...dining experience. She is knowledgeable in both the food and drinks menu and gave us a good steer to what to choose with our food. The covers are staggered to ensure no one waits too long and what I love about this place is the table is yours for the night so your not trying to cram your food within 2 hours like many places! We could not find fault with any of the food, the pigeon, lamb and duck were cooked to perfection and the knife just slid through it, the bisque sauce with the seafood crepe was delicious. If you only eat out once in Cheddar make sure it’s at Frank’s!More

Had dinner with my partner on Saturday 12th Dec and it was the best meal we had on our weekend visit to Cheddar. The restaurant is family run and has a lovely homely feel, great atmosphere and incredible food (I had duck and it was...amazing with the best orange sauce..would highly recommend). I could not fault a thing and it was such a lovely evening. They also have a really good selection of wines giving you lots of options to pair with your food. We will 100% be booking again when we are back on Chedder. Thank you Sue Frank !!More

Had a lovely meal at Frank’s, which is a terrific little restaurant. Found Sue very welcoming and the service was excellent and food was truly outstanding. I had the cheese soufflé, the trio of pork and the praline bar, whereas my wife had the salmon,...the lamb and the summer berry and white chocolate bar. All courses were really fantastic and beautifully cooked. Really reasonably priced too, all in all a fantastic meal out. Would definitely go back and would highly recommendMore
