Recommended to visit by Lauren Farm Glamping in Mark… well worth a trip. Themed rooms, delicious food and great value. We did want to sit in the pink room but were informed it wasn’t yet open which was a let down.

Had a nice afternoon tea here after a walk up and down from the gorge, we didn't enjoy the price as much as we loved the beautiful little courtyard.

Pre booked a table, after reading good reviews, for three friends to celebrate a birthday. Reserved table we were taken to was dirty and sticky on arrival, it wasn't busy. We confirmed on three separate occasions that we were booked in for three classic afternoon...teas and that one guest was gluten free. Wrong items arrived after ordering despite reconfirming our order at the table. Finger sandwiches were very basic and the bread was not fresh. Cakes and scones were not home made, we recognised a well known cake brand, Mr K. Gluten free cake option was just a scone and a slice of cake. At £18 per person, we thought it was expensive and definitely not worth the money and also, not the experience we were expecting. We had to ask twice for for extra water for our teapot as we had one teapot between three of us. Cheddar is a beautiful place to visit but avoid this cafe.More

Stopped for breakfast. Car parking just up the hill by the bend (2 min walk). English breakfast was fab. Decor very interesting. Ticked all the boxes.

Lovely tea room, we had lunch and it was very nice. Hoped to return for afternoon tea but the timings didn’t work! It’s dog friendly downstairs which is nice.

Reserved a table via email for today as a birthday treat with my hubby. The tea room was busy so I was pleased we reserved a table, it was lovely to see how popular this beautiful tea room is. The food we ordered was delicious,...I would highly recommend visiting, and the heart shaped scone for the cream tea was a lovely touch. Thoroughly recommended and the service was fabulous.More

I love this place and breakfast is perfect, every ingredient is freshly cooked and delicious. I was however, disappointed to find that I had been charged 75p for a portion of mustard, this seemed an unnecessary and disproportionate sum for a teaspoon of condiment on...an already pricey meal!More

After being out in the cold seeing all that Cheddar had to offer, it was so welcoming to pop in to the Lion Rock and sit near the fireplace and defrost over a delicous brew with a cream tea and toasted ham and cheese. It...was one of the best toasties we've had - I am sure that's because it was made with genuine Cheddar cheese !!More
