Wandering through Cheddar, fancied a few simple drinks on a hot day. Very inexperienced staff, ongoing confusion over food for other guests. Nevertheless how hard can 3 juices and an iced coffee be? Well no glasses or ice ever arrived for juice, the iced coffee...had an inch of syrup in the bottom of a latte glass with 5 tiny ice cubes floating on top. Possibly the worst iced coffee I have seen served. Sadly it wasn't busy, it wasn't a difficult order, what's worse is you tried to defend yourself like this was acceptable. Piss poor, avoidMore

Really enjoyed our lunch here. The pastries were fresh and delicious and the ploughman's was beautifully served and had all the trimmings. We felt very welcome as a family with two small children and a dog, the staff were friendly and helpful.

As always cafe gorge comes up trumps. Beautiful setting, lovely staff & amazing food especially the ploughmans. Cave aged cheddar cheese , local home made pickles & chutney & doorstep size slices of fresh local bread from an award winning bakery along side a well...presented fresh ploughmans salad garnish. Keep up the good work cafe gorge. You're the best.More

Great little cafe with lovely outlook onto a stream. Had a delicious spinach and blue cheese quiche with salad. Expected the sale to just be a garnish but it was a real plateful with two very tasty chutneys. Gorgeous cake to follow. Highly recommend.

Although the setting is lovely and the staff friendly we have received the most awful food here. This was particularly upsetting as the food displayed at the counter was very delicious looking. We had ordered a cheddar ploughman's and it was consisting of carelessly chopped...vegetables seemingly thrown onto the plate with two ends of dry white loaf of bread with a chunk of cheese. Disappointing and awful.More

Popped in for lunch and really enjoyed it! We had a cream tea, tea, brie and bacon toastie, and a pasty and all were really good. Really enjoyed the loose leaf tea as well. Service was quick and staff were really attentive. The place really...had that cosy feel despite it rainly lightly outside and the doors being open - it was still quite warm :)More

Easy access, and plenty of room inside and out, accessibility parking nearby. Food is generally very good - although pastry was a little tough. Coffee too weak for my taste, and bitter.Needs improvement as it is a great location.

Seven of us stopped in for lunch on a -surprisingly- busy Sunday in March, the staff were happy to accommodate us and were patient with our order. We sat outside with our dog and watched the world go by, entertainment provided by tourists and goats,...better than Netflix. The food was delicious! Jacket potato, chunky toasties and filling falafels. They really have got the café formula right! I'd recommend a visit. we are mostly veggie and, for once felt we had a wide choice on the menu.More

We ate lunch here after walking the gorge. We had excellent toasties/hot sandwiches which came with a side salad. They also have a selection of local bottle conditioned ales. The dining area inside has large windows for a little view and there is a pleasant,...small outside seating area. It is right among the row of shops and eateries stretching into the western end of the gorge near the caves and visitor centre.More

Excellent, friendly cafe right by the gorge. Lovely fresh items on the menu, including cheddar sandwiches. Great cakes and pastries. Good tea and coffee. Looks great to sit outside, but it was raining when we came. Can highly recommend.

OK for a quick sandwich but be prepared to pay a premium holiday maker price. You'd be better off going to the local corner shop and buying a loaf and some cheese to save your pennies.

This was the highlight of my visit to Cheddar! We went for morning coffee and liked it so much that we went back for lunch. Great food, some well-deserved awards and fantastic staff.

There is a council car park in Cheddar and an all day car park at the pub next door. It is approximately a 10minute walk from the car pro to the Gorge Cafe
