We have just arrived home after a fabulous two night stay in Cheddar at The Bath Arms.Right from our very thorough check-in by Alice at the start we knew this was the place for us & our friends. Our rooms were immaculate, the bar was inviting &...the restaurant food was excellent ! But above all & for me personally, the most important part of any stay, has to be good & polite service. I have to say, service & politeness was exceptional here ! Every member of staff without exception, was friendly & helpful. We just couldn’t fault their professionalism. Predominantly a young staff, too, this was so refreshing.I mentioned Alice before, but she has stood out as being exemplary throughout. A young lady with a very mature head on her shoulders, she went out of her way to look after us & not only made us feel welcome but also made us feel like friends to her. An excellent example of what The Bath Arms is all about ! Thank you so much to all involved.More
Brilliant as ever. Fabulous lunch with long lost cousin. Trouble is, it’s always, always so nice in there….think I am starting to slowly move in. Ambience ring the day is special. Coffee is great. Staff go out of their way to oblige. Food is excellent…they...do small portions and a children’s menu if required. Never, ever do you see an uncleared table (my pet hate), roaring fires in the winter, easy parking, just a delightful place. Dog friendly except in main restaurant. What not to love!! Then try it’s sister place…The Congresbury Arms!More
We booked at the last minute but had a good table. The food was excellent and the menu suited both adults and children. Attentive staff and friendly atmosphere. Would certainly recommend.
Poor menu, overpriced, rude staff, even worse landlords. Food was substandard and when highlighted to the staff the landlady was incredibly rude. Save your money, go elsewhere.
A great looking pub restaurant and hotel in the middle of cheddar and within an easy walk from the Caravan and Motorhome Club campsite less than ten minutes walk along the pedestrian and cyclist path, the menu wasn’t extensive but it did have at leat...two Vegan choices for main course, the staff are very friendly and polite and the ambiance is pleasant, we chose the BBQ chicken and pork rib Penang curry with spring rolls and crackers, we were not disappointed the presentation was excellent and the taste was for us sublime spicy but not to hot, I would rate the dish 10/10 the wife 9.5/10 we will definitely be back to sample more.More
Wow what a meal, went to the bath arms for our anniversary. We pushed the boat out my husband had Poached duck egg with asparagus, fish and chips and Eton mess. I am gluten and dairy intolerant so I had Olives, sea bass with mussels...and samphire, strawberries and meringue. Everything was superb. Good friendly service. And we took our dogs.More
Went out with friends to this pub. I must have picked a bad night according to other reviews because the food I had was terrible, the crispy chilli beef had soggy noodles not crispy as covered with wet salad, the crispy beef was over cooked,...hard burnt lumps. Ordered a rhubarb fool, what a joke… a layer of custard then cream in a glass was bits of rhubarb top & bottom more like a trifle without the sponge. I don’t mind paying high prices when the food is good but that was my worst meal I have ever eaten out. And to add insult to injury we had to wait 45 minutes for the food!!More
We have been here several times now and thought we should do a review. Easy parking. A really good menu with lots of choice and some great options for vegetarians (thank you chef) . Enjoyed both Saturday and Sunday lunch (full roast) and even squeezed...in a couple of great desserts. Cheddar Ales .. their potholer is a nice beer. It’s not the cheapest place to eat but their quality is excellent… can’t fault the place.More
Nothing really bad to say but not in a hurry to eat here again. To begin with surprised how empty the room was but there was a reason for that.
After reading all the good reviews we were a bit disappointed. Four of us went for Sunday lunch. Service was very slow & not particularly friendly. Our main courses were just okay and the sticky toffee puddings were the worst we've ever tasted. We will...not return to this restaurant, sorry but can't recommend.More
We stayed here for two nights. It was such a perfect spot and only 10 minute walk to cheddar gorge caves. Would definitely recommend and will definitely stay again. We only had the pleasure of breakfast but was very tasty. The main restaurant looked so...good but we had other plans. Thank you to Jacqui for being so helpful during our stay.More
Pre booked family celebration. Sunday lunch did not disappoint. Friendly and efficient staff. Dining room full so best to book
There were 8 of us and one dog. We had 7 excellent meals and one which could have been warmer. The staff were very friendly and service was excellent, especially as they were very busy.
Visited in a Sunday lunchtime, place was practically empty. Poor menu available serving regular pub food at inflated prices - £16 for ham egg and chips and £28 for a steak. Food was poor quality, burnt burgers and items missing from the plates that were...on the menu. Odd smell when the food arrived, something smelt "off" but we couldn't pinpoint what/where the smell was coming from. It lingured for the entirety of the meal. I am a local and locals avoid this pub due to the poor quality and overinflated prices, it really is a tourist trap pub, avoid and go elsewhere they have no "regular" customers for a reason.More
