A one night stay in this lovely hotel on the high street, ample parking at the rear. We stayed in the Gallox 8 room which was just perfect. Lisa was very welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was pre-ordered making the experience very covid secure, it was...delicious. A tranquil garden to sit in and relax. The hotel is tastefully decorated to a high standard. I would highly recommend a stay here.More

Having briefly escaped from the craziness of Butlins and a Grandson who had just been dumped by his girlfriend we came across this gem of a restaurant on a cold and windy afternoon during February half term. All three of us had the Roast dinner,...puddings and coffee and unanimously agreed that it was one of the best if not the best meal we had ever had. The ambiance, friendly staff and peaceful environment just added to the perfect dining experience and the bill was also very reasonable. We headed off back to Butlins with a warm glow to watch the Little Mix tribute which due to our experience at the restaurant seemed a lot better than it probably was. Happy days indeed.More

We dropped in just for a quick drink, and was not disappointed. Unusual bar area, some interesting objects to look at and very comfortable chairs; on another day may be tempted by their wide range of gins!

3 adults and 2 children, went in to get a bite to eat, after visiting Dunster Castle, as the sign outside said food served all day. Who I can only assume is the landlady watched us settle on a corner table, park pram out of...the way, get high chair, take kids outdoor wear off... 10 minutes in, made our selections from the menu only to be told when going to the bar to order, that they are no longer serving food as they’ve been too busy in the day. Woman proceeded to argue with my mother in law and was extremely rude considering she’s running a business in HOSPITALITY... Had to wrap the kids back up, put baby back in the pram and navigate around the tables to get out... As we were leaving the table next to us had their food served??? Would not recommend at all.. this is the second bad experience we’ve had here where this same lady was extremely rude, there will not be a third. Would be nice to just inform us whilst watching us settle at the table and clearly read the menu, that food was no longer being served. There is absolutely no excuse for such an attitude towards potential customers. And before they try and fob this off as being an incorrect review like they have to other negative reviews - this is definitely for the Dunster Castle Hotel.More

There was a miss-fortunate misunderstanding because one of my front of house people had already told you before you sat down that we had finished serving food in our restaurant. Had you booked we would have been able to accommodate you. I heard a commotion...More

We are vegetarian and just wanted a simple meal. The team couldn't have been more supportive and welcoming. The coleslaw was amazing .

Stayed for one night, room was small, but enjoyable. Lovely breakfast, just what you need to start the day. WiFi was intermittent and annoying.

The Dunster Castle Hotel is in an ideal location, has a nice bar and small restaurant. The bar was nice serving a variety of drinls including many different Gins. The bar staff were polite and friendly. The food was very average and served by a...very 'grumpy' lady! Unbelievably, for a hotel/restautant of this class, no one on the staff knew how to fillet a sea bass!!More

We ate here three times for dinner and once for lunch during our week in Dunster. The gin selection is impressive. They take care over the garnishes and the Brockmanns with a fruit coulis was amazing. House wines were very good too. The menu is...short but beautifully executed. Lamb was tender and perfect. Duck breast was fabulous. One evening each week they have a simpler menu and have a pub quiz or an open Mike. Even so the food was delicious and great value. It was pub quiz the week we were there and that was tremendous fun. They allow dogs in most of the bar but not in the carpeted bit so easy to get away from other people’s furry friends if you want to. Our big border collie was happy to be fed dog biscuits. Highly recommendedMore
