Great food, great value and lovely people. The beef & mushroom stew was magnificent, the price was very reasonable and the staff were extremely welcoming.

We stopped in here to grab a coffee, and ordered cheese scones too. When they came they were warm, light and just lovely - staff really friendly too - highly recommend!!

Having just been around the castle my husband and I wanted a meal. I’d seen this coffee shop as we had a look around the village so went back to have a meal. Greeted by a lovely lady and shown to a table for 2....Got in just before the rush as all the tables filled up very quickly, we had our order taken for drinks and food, drinks arrived quickly and that’s were it stopped!! Everyone else had there food all be mostly cream teas and sandwiches while we waited and waited. It was only when people who arrived after us had eaten and were leaving did we receive our food. (Having reminded waitress) Once the food arrived it was presented nicely mine was piping hot, but when I went to taste my husband’s mint burger it was cold. I told him to mention this but being a man he didn’t and went onto eat it. As I was paying for our food the gentleman apologised for the delay in our order. I then mentioned that hubby’s burger was cold and maybe if someone else ordered it, it might need to be cooked a little longer, without any problem and without my asking he deducted hubby’s meal from the bill. Fantastic service especially as he’d eaten all the food. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and if in the area again wouldn’t hesitate in going back.More

Had a nice Sunday lunch here. The staff were all welcoming and I think we were lucky to get the last table, which proves it’s popular! The food was good but not everything was piping hot but it was acceptable. I was concerned that although...it’s lovely that the place welcomes dogs, staff petted the dogs then touched the clean cutlery. One table was not cleaned down between customers and I saw clean cutlery being put in the jar being held by the eating ends. A bit of a concern with covid pandemic but on the other hand, there was gel at the door and the place is very clean. I would return again when in the area as the food and service was good.More

Myself and family visited this little gem this afternoon for lunch. We had the tagine, beef burger, stew and a bit and bacon sandwich. The most incredible food we have had in dunster! After we had a cream tea and they are not lying when...they say they are humongous! The gentleman that served us was so upbeat and helpful! Nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely recommend a trip to cobblestones and we can’t wait to return soon! Thank you!More

If you don’t mind a rude welcome, abrupt attitude and a long wait for coffee which we felt was begrudgingly served this is the place to go. It made Basil Fawlty’s manner appear angelic. Plenty of other nice places to stop for a coffee in...Dunster.More

Whilst visiting Dunster with the family we stopped off for lunch, spoiling ourselves. Sat on comfy sofas, had 2 large pimms, a great meal followed by 3 humungous scones with cream and jam. The food was incredible, the service friendly and an outstandingly fair price....We hope to visit again later in the year!More

A bit chaotic at the beginning. We had booked a table but the women dealing with us wouldn't listen to the fact we'd booked and started clearing the worst table for us right in the entrance. When we asked if we could sit outside, she...said OK and we walked straight past a reserved table with our name on it! Service from then on was good. Food was OK, wife and daughter reported that the Sunday roast was good. My Scampi was ok. Very standard fare really.More

I booked a table online for Sunday lunch. When we arrived there was confusion and a reply of "oh an online booking". Yes, it is 2021. When we got our table after 3 different people dealing with us we ordered 2 ham egg & chips...which comes with salad. The meals came but no salad. My husband asked where it was and the waitress replied "it's only small anyway". She then brought just one salad. Another waitress asked me if I would like my salad..at £9.50, yes please. The meals were nice, perhaps a little overpriced for a cafe. The room was clean. When we paid we were overcharged by £14. I queried the price and a new one was given with no apology. If the two older ladies (who I feel may be the owners) were more polite this would be a lovely cafe.More

Our roast dinner came plated up, with vegetables and a large jug of gravy between us on the side. It was delicious! The staff love their customers to be happy, we were even offered bread to mop up the gravy! The pudding was amazing, accompanied...by an enormous jug of custard!More
