Really tasty sausage and chips out of a bag! Nice served that way than in chip paper or plastic tray. They always taste better by the sea!

Excellent cod/haddock and chips to take away. Just had to ward off the seagulls that swooped down when we reached the beach!

Called in after a long journey from Whitby. I ordered a large and medium fish and chips, expecting them to be cooked to order, as per the blurb. They were NOT. However, the chips were hot....but the fish were both thin, and the batter on one of them was undercooked. The claim that they are the "best" is not proved... More

We're from Yorkshire, home of Harry Ramsdens (a bit overrated) The Mermaid in Morley and the brilliant Whacker's in York. We ate at the Aldeburgh sit down restaurant just down the road The Upper Deck. As good as it gets with a most delightful waitress looking after us superbly, get to meet her while you can as she's expecting a... More

I've been to both shops while in Aldeburgh & found the food to always be average. Only chippie in the area so put up or shut up is probably the motto. There will always be a que, in the summer it will stretch down the street with holiday makers. Portion sizes are small compared to other fish & chip shops... More

We decided to have takeaway fish and chips on one night of our stay in Aldeburgh. The portion size was small for a Medium cod and didn't taste particularly fresh. The chips were dry and overall we were disappointed with 4 portions.

We did enjoy our fish and chips on the beach but we're also disappointed that the quality had fallen dramatically. The batter was thinner than in the past so not bubbly and crispy, chips also not as good. We were puzzled as to why it had changed so much. It was also the first time there was no queue waiting.

I happen to go around the country visiting local Fish and Chip shops. So far, and it is just a beginning, I have been to about a dozen. Mainly around the South coast and East Anglia coast. By chance ended up in Aldeburgh on Sunday afternoon. By chance noticed a queue of people by a fish and chips shop. Decided... More
