One of the best meals we have ever had. For starters I had curried chicken hearts and my partner had the snails & marrow - absolutely fantastic. For main I had braised cheeks and my partner braised ox-tail - absolutely fantastic... WOW! Deserts were great also. Cosy establishment. Clean, tidy and well presented. Staff excellent and very attentive. This will... More

As soon as we arrived at Pea Porridge, we knew we were in for a treat: a cosy, tastefully decorated restaurant and a warm welcome from Jurga. And oh my: such astonishing food - so many original dishes - it was difficult to choose from. A treat for meat lovers: - to start, I had sauté of snails, bone marrow,... More

Again I could not fault the food or the service. They managed to squeeze us in as well because I had messed up a booking elsewhere

I ate here last week and it was absolutely superb. Friendly, informed staff - one of us prefers non-spicy food and we were carefully advised - an excellent choice of dishes (with some unusual options), and all absolutely delicious. My grilled octopus melted in the mouth - and that's a difficult thing to get right. I can't recommend it highly... More

You just can't argue with the two course lunch time deal for £14.50. Faultless service and adventurous cooking here. Delicious nettle soup with lardons and almonds; black pudding with wet garlic, egg and chestnut mushrooms. Will be back and can't think what took me so long to come all the way from Sudbury! Seriously good.

After all the praise in your review section, I found nothing tempting in the menu, which certainly is quite unusual, but in the end plumped for the tagine. No presentation required for this dish which is meant for people with big appetites. It was good, but not outstanding. The wild garlic soup was bland, although the bits of spicy sausage... More

If you have ever been to the goods shed in Canterbury this food will not disappoint. It's full of flavour , well presented , in a great atmosphere. We have heard a lot about Peas Porridge and expected great things and delivered on its promises. Sweat breads and ox cheek - snails and wild boar temps you to try things... More
