I have dined at My Delhi in Newcastle several times and it never loses its appeal for me. It is almost hidden away in an unassuming area of town and has what I would describe as fairly modest fixtures and fittings. You walk in and you don't immediately feel like you're in the best restaurant in Newcastle. Oh but you ARE. OMG the food, the wonderful wonderful food. I've tried most things on the menu but keep coming back to the Lamb Railway Curry - the flavours are just exceptional and I could eat it all day long. Riya made our visit on 18th October very special - helpful friendly service and a pleasure to be looked after so very well by her. As ever, the bill was very good value for what we had ordered. I can't wait to go back. Seriously. If you haven't been here - you must must go. You will not regret it.

Such an amazing place! Incredible atmosphere and the food was all so delicious! We had the Sunday Curry Club menu and it was such great value- I’d especially recommend the fish curry and the paneer curry! The servers were all really lovely as well! Our server Mythili was particularly friendly and helpful and was so good with the 7 month old we brought- really grateful for her as she definitely helped make our experience even more enjoyable and memorable! Would definitely recommend My Delhi to anyone visiting Newcastle!

Went for lunch on Friday with it being restaurant week and myself and my partner did the £20 per head menu. We got nibbles to start then samosa chaat, Delhi Chicken Tikka, chilli chicken and Amritsari fish and the railway station lamb curry, rice, plus a peshwari naan and a large bottle of mineral water. The food was amazing!! I wasn't too keen on the samosa chaat as it had a chickpea sauce poured over it which in my opinion made them claggy and not a nice texture. In hindsight I wished I'd ordered the onion bhaji as they looked divine and I had food envy 😁😁. I had heard great things about the railway station curry and it did not disappoint. It was packed full of lamb and so flavoursome. The rice and naan was so tasty too and we filled our boots. Staff were really nice and once again it was a great experience. The bill was £54 and worth every penny and we look forward to returning in the not too distant future!!

Bottomless brunch chosen!Mediocre drinks all syruppy! Prosecco okay! Not much choice! Butter chicken lovely but too much rice as one meal only or two starters to choose from. Staff were alright weren't interested in customer care or excellence. We had to keep calling them over having 1.5 hours to have our food and order drinks only after finishng each drink. Byriani chicken dish was mainly rice not much substance to it. Nothing exciting about any of these t,! Food was fine but had better. Staff weren't attentive enough or very interested in service. Won't be back unfortunately after having a lovely meal on my birthday and too much choice to eat elsewhere in town

Did not live up to the reviews as it lacks authenticity, tailored to the British palette and standard . Service was rushed and no one even bothers to ask how the food is once served….. A 10% service charge is pre-entered irrespective of the less than expected service delivered. Disappointed!!!!

Small modern restaurant serving an afternoon Christmas menu of 3 courses plus popadoms and sauces for £27 (£30 after 4pm). Started with creamy tandoori broccoli and a Delhi chicken tikka followed by a kozhi chicken curry and butter chicken with rice and mixed naan. Finished with a chocolate caramel cake. A beer each and decent service. Automatic 10% service charge. No comment.

Been to My Dheli today for my boyfriends birthday and it was totally amazing. We got poppadoms and dips to start then I got the 3 small plates for £15. I got 2 x onion bhajis, honey chilli chicken and Dehli chicken tikka. My partner got the other option of one small plate, one main and rice for £15 and he got amritsari fish, butter chicken, rice and we ordered a peshawari naan. We of course shared all the food 😁. The food was amazing as was the service from Crystal and Sahil. They even gave my boyfriend a birthday card ❤️ The bill only came to £42 and it has to be the best Indian food we've had in a long time.

There were some great points about this place but also some negatives. The service was excellent and the staff were spot on with the customer. However the food after ordering came out after around 7 minutes which is never really a good sign. It had obviously not been cooked to order so I am afraid it felt like we were eating left overs. Gol Gappa - This just tasted weird like washing up liquid. A soapy taste, not like what I was expecting and not very pleasant. I have had pani puri before which is an amazing tasty concept and the Gol Gappa just doesn't compare. If I were them I would take this off the menu and replace it with pani puri. Creamy Malai Tikka - This was quite dry and even though it had been cooked in a marinade, there wasn't much flavour behind this and it wasn't the creamy buttery chicken as advertised so you had to mask it with the dipping sauce it comes with. The Emperor's Stew - This was the star dish with amazing flavours. The lamb was tender and fell apart and it was a decent portion also. The sauce was rich and warming. We ordered Peshwari Naan and rice to accompany this dish and the Peshwari Naan was also amazing with great texture and flavours. Amritsari Fish - This was disappointing. This had obviously been reheated as the batter was really soft, not crunchy as advertised and the fish did not come to the table hot. To cook these pieces of fish would take no time at all so I don't known why these can't be cooked to order. Chef Gomez' Croquettes - These were ok but didn't have enough flavours going on. I suppose it was the Anglo part of the mashed potato in it which prevented it from going full throttle with that Indian flavoured kick. I would go back again for a second try if I ever visited Newcastle but I would probably just stick to a couple of curries with rice and Naan.

The positive: food was very tasty and the staff friendly and efficient The negative: rather than the dishes arriving as they are ready they come all at once we were asked “is this ok” when we asked if we could order some street dishes then order curries a bit later we were told in no uncertain terms that no we couldn’t…. So why ask if it’s ok? Almost as soon as we finished ordering the dishes started to arrive so clearly pre cooked. All the dishes arrived so there was barely any room on the table in fact we had to consolidate dishes and get the serving dishes taken away to make room. It all felt very rushed leading us to determine that the “all dishes come at once” is a way of getting customers in and out quickly so more covers can be served, it was definitely a popular place. Wouldn’t return as although the food was nice it was obviously pre cooked and the whole experience felt very rushed. Would not recommend if you want a no pressure meal experience.

Chose to go here in the first trip of our weekend after checking out reviews. Initial impression was that you’d need to book a table to be sure of getting a table. Ordered a pint of madri at £5.40 and a large bottle of Kingfisher as we looked through the menu. Ordered poppadoms and dips at £4.80 which, though good, was a bit pricey. Ordered starter to share of Highest 24 chicken at 6.50 which turned out to be a mistake on my part as it was served with the mains. Though we knew this was possible it definitely detracted from the meal. Mains were lamb khadai gosht with paratha at £17.20 and chicken biryani with nann at £17. Made a second mistake of ordering an onion salad at £3.50 thinking it was spiced onions. The meal was very good and the busy restaurant was testimony to the good reputation. A service charge of 10% was added which was a wee bit of a surprise but saved giving a tip. All in all, an excellent meal but I cannot recommend ordering a starter given it’s bound to be served with the mains. That’s the only disappointment. Nevertheless, we’ll be back as the service was excellent.

I travel to New Delhi for food as often as I can as everything they do is top notch. The menu is varied and utterly delicious (we always order too much) . Booking is very easy and quick and the staff are attentive without being obtrusive. The lamb chops are about the best I've had and the Railway Lamb is beautifully cooked. Overall the place warrants a 40 minute journey and parking fees

Walked in 20 minutes early and were greeted to a table within minutes, had thee most perfect poppadoms with dips not long after. Greeted again by another member of staff, wine and food was ordered within maybe 10/15 minutes of sitting down but didn’t feel rushed. Crystal (I believe it was) along with a few other member of staff, (think I may of butchered his name but Nanden also looked after us). All in all my missus found this place for my birthday and it’s hands down a top experience and food was amazing. Only red flag for you lot who can’t handle your spice : one toilet! 🤣

I recently had the pleasure of dining at My Delhi New Castle, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The menu is diverse, offering a variety of dishes that cater to different tastes. Our server, MYTHILI, was knowledgeable about the menu and offered great recommendations.

Visited today for the first time. My friend and I both had the the lunchtime canteen - a chicken curry with rice, Dahl, pickles and raita and we added a nan bread as an extra. It was absolutely delicious. The cocktail we had was also very nice. The restaurant had a lovely atmosphere even though it was quiet . The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be returning.
