I used to be a regular in the Boathouse years ago. It has always been a friendly, traditional local pub. Earlier this year when I began walking my pup along the riverside,I wss delighted that the pub was still dog-friendly- in fact,I'd go so far as to say,it encouraged the many dog-walkers who traipse along Hadrian's Way throughout the year, not... Stopped in for lunch as had heard good things. Staff were very welcoming and this is a pub with lovely traditional charm. Sadly it wasn't warm enough to sit out and enjoy the river views. My husband had burger & chips and I had home made corned beef slice and chips. Both were amazing. No flashy presentation just good honest... More

Burger and chips £4.50 and taste great! Kids meals £2.75 and great beer! If the weather is nice you can sit outside next to the river! Lovely traditional pub! Love it!

Stop off here with the dog when walking up the Keelmans Way with our dog. Good selection of beers and food. Must try and go for Sunday Lunch as these are reputed to be excellent. will review again when we have sampled one.

Loads of "proper" beer and was really tempted to try the pie and peas on offer. Sunday lunch waiting for me that afternoon so had to give it a miss.

Stopped in for a pint on our way by the Boathouse's front door. We had to go exactly 7 steps from HWP to procure some very good ale. Well worth it! Lovely setting overlooking the peaceful Tyne. Enjoyed our drink for twenty minutes then pressed on. Perfect.

We stumbled across this pub on a walk from Wylam, along the River Tyne. Located just next to the river, it's located in a perfect spot if you're doing the same thing. The pub itself seems to have a split personality - it has the appearance of a quaint, traditional pub, serving your standard ales and lagers, with lots of... More
