My husband took me to 21 to celebrate my birthday. We were looking for good food and service. We opted for 21 as they seemed to have a varied menu and a good reputation. The place itself is nice enough, although I had to swap...More

Daughter recommended eating here for a special occasion. Good choice. Nice surroundings, staff helpful without being over the top. Very pleasant and relaxed surroundings. Food lovely. Our Sole Meuniere was just as it should be - delicious. Had to try the hand cut chips. They...More

Great meal - topped by great souffles. Consistently good standard of food in this place - service as you'd expect from a high end place. Book - it gets busy. 4 people out for about £120 with minimal drink.

Absolutely spot on, staff very well trained, couldn't do enough to help. Everything no problem. A friend has to eat GF and she was able to eat pretty much what we all ate with dietary modifications. The dessert was absolutely top notch and I don't...More

How do they get those cheese soufflés so soft and tasty? They must cook twice as many as needed and only let out the perfect ones. Probably scoff the others in the kitchen! Really good food and great service.

We had a round table which I prefer, it’s easier to talk to everyone when there’s six people. Good menu although I hear it never changes, so not very seasonal then. I had a seafood cocktail which was nice enough but not special enough to...More

Such a lovely menu and the food was excellent. What stood out for us was the service we received, particularly from Emily who talked us through the cheeses on offer and provided her knowledge and expertise whilst we chose what we wanted. Lovely job!

Very well! I contacted them in advance and the chef suggested a delicious 3 course meal: antipasti platter; fresh vegetable salad; berries and sorbet. Fantastic. I always think such a challenge is a test of a chef, and one... More

Situated in the heart of Newcastle Quayside, 21 is a classic, modern bistro offering skilful cooking, sassy service and a good-time feel. It’s about eating handsome food in comfortable stylish surroundings—polished floorboards, leather banquettes, crisp cloths. Chic, sharp, fun.
