We've been twice in July: once for lunch and another for dinner. The menu is pub food, but of the highest caliber, with gravy that you want to rob from your neighbor's plate when yours is gone! Pies, Cauvery roasts, hamburgers, chips-all are delicious. The...More

Unfortunately we didn't have a chance to eat here, but stopped for a pint. Such a great historic place. Also a nice yard and good service.

I think many of us have an idea of what a classic English pub would look like, and The Old Thatch Tavern delivers on many of those notions. The pub has been in business since the mid-fifteenth century and is full of character. Our friends,...More

Really enjoyed our dinner at the Old Thatch. Cottage pie and fish and chips were ordered and both were delicious, as were our pints. Atmosphere is lovely. Location central. Would not hesitate to go again.

Small but comfortable pub, great food and friendly staff. Just the job after a long day, and the beer is good too! What more can you ask for?

Called in for a night-cap in the form of a quiet drink, but unfortunately the unsmiling lady dressed in black behind the bar who served us, was basically rude and totally without any manners - not at all necessary for her to behave in such...More

Yes, if you want a seat in the 2 small dining rooms. We were fortunate that when we came in they put 2 tables together in the small bar for the 6 of us (we actually liked it better than the dining rooms)
