Called in for some food early evening. Heard alot about the one at Bourton so decided to give it a go. Shown to a booth very nice and pleasant server. Ordered Traditional cod and chips no sides and Fishcake and chips with mushy peas. Also...ordered tea and coffee and a roll and butter. The fish was very tasty ,quite large, loads of chips but the fishcake was tiny!! (size of a brains faggot!!) TBH if known how small it was, wouldn't have had it, although tasty, just too small for the price paid. Glad we went in all very tasty, but a little pricey.More

Don’t know what was going on here but I was after 2 pieces of chicken and chips - fairly straightforward to me. Having placed order it was repeated back to me as “So you want a traditional” - which is fish and chips. I reclarified...2 pieces of chicken and chips. The waiter leaves, then comes back to ask if I want chips with that. 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️More

Incredible buzz and batter to die for. I had mushy pea fritters which I've never had before and what a revelation!. Soft, sweet satisfying interior with a light savoury crispy batter in the outside, finished with salt and vinegar. Why have I never eaten these...delights before? Husband equally satisfied with his huge cod and chunky, perfect chips. Our son enjoyed his veggie burger, served with all the dressings and happily, correctly presented in a brioche bun. Better still, I enjoyed a prosecco with my fritters and beer was available on tap too. A great Friday evening buzz. The only downside was the time it took to deliver the food but it was well worth waiting for. Go very hungry. Bill for 3 of us including drinks was a very reasonable 50 pounds.More

Really gone down hill since the move. The food is greasy and tastes old. Really miss the West street shop. Unfortunately won’t be going back.

Before children went back to school we stayed in a lodge in Warwick Castle for 2 nights. On the second night we dined at The Chip Shed. Staff very friendly, fish and chips were very good. I would recommend.

Brought fish and chips for the family as my sons hamster had died and we thought a little treat would lighten the afternoon. We ordered chips, halloumi, pea fritters, fish, donner kabab and a sausage. When we got home we tucked into the food and...after a few minutes my mum said “there’s a fly in my dinner” my first reaction was “well it’s been hot, one random fly can happen” I should mention here that my mother has always been a very slow eater, she’s always looked at her food and goes through it very slowly, myself on the other hand eat very quickly. A few moments later mum noticed another fly, and then a third, at this point we all begin to start looking at our meals. To our absolute horror, we all began to fine brown/black half fried dead flies in our food. You could see the legs, wings, abdomens. The flies were on the chips and the batter. We felt so sick at the thought of digesting flies and I personally had no idea how many I’d eaten as I had almost finished mine, including my 9 month pregnant wife. We immediately contacted the shop as we felt it was very important to inform the owners of this situation and we also wanted our money back. A manager named Eleanor dealt with the situation, initially all was well, very apologetic and offered a refund, either in cash or a bank transfer. As I’m busy and often leave the country for work and with my wife heavily pregnant I asked for a bank transfer refund, we were told via WhatsApp messages (which I’ve kept) between myself and the manger who I had sent photos of the flies too that this would take 5 days. I asked the manager if she could inform me once the transaction back to our account had been made, which she said yes. I asked the manger on the 10th sep 21 to let me know when the money had been sent. By the 12th I’d still had no contact regarding the refund so I messaged and asked what the situation was. At this point I was informed I needed to start sending the confirmation email of the bill (which had sent previously been asked for) which I didn’t have to hand, instead I sent a photo of the transfer we had made to them for £31.35 at this point I was beginning to feel peed off that myself and family had ingested insects and we were still waiting for a refund, Our last contact with Eleanor was to inform me to contact the shop via email, and that I’d get our refund back from Monday which would then take three days. This was different to the five days stipulated. Eleanor then blocked me from corresponding any more via WhatsApp which felt like a kick in the teeth. All in all our experience at the chip shed was vile, we felt physically sick after eating so many flies. This isn’t our issue or our problem, initially the situation was dealt with well but after a while of comments such as “no one else had complained” and you need to contact us via email on top of the fact our refund was not sent back via transfer immediately we felt this was a big liberty Hence why we are now publicly showing the photos of the food and contacting environmental health at Warwick district council. I hope the chip shed learns how to serve food in the future and sort issues quickly in future. We will personally never be eating here again and neither will many of our friends or family in local area who were horrified after seeing the photos.More

Gluten free fish and chips attracted me and my family to the chip shed. We eat in side, the staff were lovely and polite, we had the whole place to ourselves. The gluten free fish and chips were really nice, me and the whole family...really enjoyed the experience. You have to pay for parking and the meals were a little pricey but apart from that it we will definitely be back. Thanks Chip Shed.More
