As Peter Kay puts it the food I had was a taste sensation and perfectly cooked and was served by delightful staff all in a cosy setting. It made for the perfect place for an anniversary meal. Also had the perfect pint of Mad Goose.

Reviews suggest insufficient staff on a bank holiday Monday. Today (Tuesday) was so different. Still two serving staff but just a handful of tables at lunchtime. Excellent service and good quality food. Wide choice. Two course £12.95 lunch menu appears to offer very good value...More

I was really amazed by the name of the place, but see that another reviewer has explained the historical interest! However we (grandparents) and two grandsons enjoyed reading the quotes on the walls while waiting a short time for our order. We had a belated...More

The setting at this pub is very attractive with a lovely garden. It has an interesting history in as much as the song "It's a Long Way to Tipperary" was penned here. The restaurant advertises itself as Italian and there is a good deal of...More
