Nothing to find fault with, except for the meringue in the dessert (consistency of the very dry and brittle ones you see in supermarkets). Friendly staff - we always give cash as a tip, as anything added onto the bill apparently doesn't go to the staff.

booked here to combine with the ballet with the main attraction being a table held for drinks during the interval. I hadn't even looked at the menu or pricing before I came and was fairly pleased to see 3 courses for £29.95 on the table d'hote. We had the lamb, and I tell you without fail it's the best lamb... Took my lady to the ballet and decided to book a table in the restaurant Fantastic ambiance food superb but the most special part was the service we received from Ella our waitress for the evening she couldn't do enough to ensure we had everything we required to make our evening special she really deserves this recognition Would definitely return... We are "friends" of the Hippodrome and always have a meal in The Circle when seeing a show, it makes a trip into town a complete night out - why wouldn't you? As ever the food and service was spot on, though we were a bit nonplussed that the complimentary bread rolls have now become a side order with hummus,... More

Situated On the first floor of the Hippodrome theatre, with easy access it offers a comfortable dining experiance. The food menu is limited but well cooked and nicely presented. It has been well thought out so as to be on your table quickly before the performance. Your table is kept for you for the interval were you can finish your... More

My wife and I booked a show [The Red Shoes - magical] and a pre-show meal as a Valentine's treat. We both had pigeon starters which were massively overcooked and chewy. Then duck which was overcooked, but with undercooked skin almost raw in places. And a side of chips with no crunch - almost as if they had been steamed... More

Had a really tasty meal at The Circle restaurant. We were running late and didn't have long before the show. However, Emily the manager was very accommodating, she rushed our meal through for us and was very professional and helpful when taking our order as I had explained that my daughter suffers from a severe nut allergy. I don't often... More

We ate here before the show-it was a lovely inviting setting. Nice table and atmosphere with friendly staff. The dinner was very good and arrived in good time. The childrens menu also was very good and the children were treated very well by the staff-the meal was pricey but it was worth it for a treat out over the xmas... More

I'm afraid that "average" pretty well sums up almost everything about this theatre eatery. It caters well for families who want a pre-theatre meal and perhaps being there at panto time meant that the menu style was aimed more towards younger patrons but if you were being honest, this is not somewhere couples would be aiming to go to just... First time eating here and the food was OK but nothing special. The setting is very convenient for theatre goers given that the restaurant will keep any leftover drinks until the interval where you can also have your sweet. Service was slow at times, and some basic things were forgotten on the tables and had to be repeatedly asked for.... More
