We were visiting Symphony Hall and the Wharf and Canals and decided to dine here early evening, amongst a huge range of dining options in the vicinity. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the décor was very rustic and pleasant. Although it is one of a chain across the country, the food looked and tasted quite home made... More

Called in for lunch with my daughter on our way to the theatre. Was a little reluctant after a very poor experience at Zizzi in Greenwich. However we had a lovely meal and we had a very efficient friendly waitress. Will definitely return. ☺

My friend and I dined here on Good Friday. We had a fairly late dinner but the restaurant managed to fit us in despite not having a reservation. Our drinks were served in a timely manner and our orders taken promptly. For starter I had the mushroom on toast which was full of flavour and is always a delight. My... More

Very bad service, really slow to get drinks, orders were wrong. Food was mediocre at best, had the pollo pusscioto where the veg was cooked to a mush, the green beans were also untrimmed.

Evening meal with friends. Very busy canal side restaurant. Service on this occasion was lacking. Order was taken promptly but took some time to arrive. It was delivered by different waitress who we had to remind that a wine was included in the order. Prior to this we had to ask again for water for our table. We had arrived... More

My wife and I wanted to dine before going to the "Remembering Fred" show at the Alexandra Theatre. We took a punt on Zizzi in the Mailbox and it was excellent. Started with mixed olives, then we both had the butterflied king prawns which were in a superb sauce. For mains I had a rustica pizza, my wife a risotto.... More

I don't think I've ever been disappointed at Zizzi, a good Italian meal at a good price in a great part of town. Really easy decision for a date or a night out, service is attentive and atmosphere is always pretty good. Much better than Strada in my opinion.

At Zizzi we like to do things a little differently. We don’t do over-complicated recipes or scrimpy portion sizes. We’re all about the well-chosen ingredients, simply put together to make exceptional Italian food. The beautiful refurbishment of the Royal Mail's main sorting office (hence the Mailbox name) has produced a premier shopping destination in the heart of Birmingham. And inside you’ll find our Birmingham Zizzi. Our restaurant is split into 2 main areas. Our raised floor area is great for large tables or parties with some funky light fittings to get into the party mood. And in contrast, the lower area (towards the large windows), draws more on the canal and outdoor theme, with large floating cloud-like light fittings hanging lazily overhead for a more relaxed vibe. With outdoor seating for sunny day dining and only a stone’s throw from the city centre’s attractions our restaurant in the Mailbox is the perfect way to end your day out. Dine al fresco with an outdoor dining area for sunny weather.
