I eat Polish food at home so rarely go to Polish restaurants. This was the best meal I have had in a Polish restaurant in England. The food is meaty, and I could see little on the menu for a vegetarian (only pierogi with potato/cheese), although there were 3 fish dishes. I had the pea soup then chicken breasts stuffed... More

Had a really enjoyable evening in Polish mountain style tavern/restaurant. Started off with a drink at the bar and was served by the super friendly waiter David. The food was tasty and filling and was a great choice on a cold January night. Will definitely return.

Group of 4 wanted to try Polish food. I have to say is as authentic as it can be. I have been in Poland and can compare. The place is very cozy and friendly and the food is like having full meals at home made by mom. Massive portions. Definitely coming back!

The restaurant is situated within Birmingham's Polish Centre, a brutal block of brick which dates back to the 1960s. From the outside, it doesn't look like much and one could easily miss the restaurant's unassuming entrance. However, once inside, you are transported into another world. A quick Google told me that "the Karczma" translates in English to "the Inn" and... More

We have a Polish visitor living with us for the last 10 months and she is a fantastic cook so we took her here as a treat. went on a cold foggy night and the nearby streets are a bit dark and gloomy but when you walk through the door its got a lovely old Taverna style feel to it.... More

It is a place for fine dining rather than cheap eat. I had not tried Polish food before so decided to give it a go. Not disappointed after all but found the food to oily and bland.

I ordered a black soup as starter and the pork neck for the main. It's exciting to taste authentic Polish cuisine in the UK, and the unusual flavour of the black soup certainly appealed to me. However, the taste of the pork neck just seemed a little bland, and the less fatty parts of the meat were hard to chew.... More

The Karczma is a traditional Polish restaurant, bar and grill located in the heart of Birmingham, just 5min walk from both the Bull Ring Shopping Centre and Moor Street Rail Station.

Restaurant is decorated in the style of an old Polish country cottage seating 85 people across 2 rooms.

The menu is designed to reflect a homely, hearty and rustic food that's quintessentially Polish, and prepared using only the very best quality ingredients.

The menu contains numerous Polish classics including Pierogi (stuffed dumplings), Berszcz (Beetroot soup), Pickled Herring, Zurek (Pickled Rye Flour Soup) served from a hollowed out loaf of bread, as well as a whole host of grilled meats and fish.

We wish you a pleasant stay and Enjoy !!!
