Very good taste, resonable price, very nice location in Coventry centre. I'll come again. I can only recommend.

This building is a former bank and so is a cut above a basic wetherspoons. The food and drink were of a basic but quite acceptable quality however what really makes the place is the competence of the staff and the quality of the service...More

So weatherspoons are pretty standard everywhere you go and to be fair I don’t really like them purely because of the type of people they seem to attract. It always seems no matter what time of the day there is always a group of drunks...More

There is always an excellent selection of hand-pulled beers and the food is consistently good. The interior is looking tired these days and could do with a refurbishment...perhaps brighten it up a bit, but if you're looking for a typical Wetherspoon's close to the shops...More

The food on the menu is fairly tasty and arrives pretty promptly. It can get really busy at lunchtimes, but the outside seating is a great place to head to with a view of the old council house. Staff are friendly.

I came for breakfast in May, and I found the Earl Mercia to have good and quick service as well as decent food. The only downside of this pub is that it's very dark on the inside.

Trying to find somewhere to eat breakfast in the centre of Coventry is pretty difficult. I spent ages trying to find somewhere near my hotel. In the end, I chose The Earl of Mercia. It's a Wetherspoons. You can't go wrong with a 'spoons, right?...More

This Wetherspoon pub is split over two floors, a bar/ dinning areas on the ground floor and a large dinning area on the first floor. We have a large entrance allowing ease of access. We provide a relaxed environment and are welcoming to everyone including families. Our name is taken from Leofric, Earl of Mercia, who founded St Mary's Priory, Coventry's first cathedral. A larger-than-life statue of Leofric and his wife, Countess Godiva, can be seen above the main entrance to the council house, opposite this pub.
