Stopped of for breakfast, quick service, breakfast choice was fab , all fresh and very very good value. There was a steady stream of people also having breakfast. The menu with available meals was very well described and the food was very inexpensive. Lovely food and grea service and all for Three quid!

This was our first visit and it was really good. There was a restaurant and you can eat in the bar, which is what we did. The food was excellent and the staff friendly. We just decided to pop in and try it out as we had driven past quite a few times. I am glad we did.

Had lunch on Sunday with the family in the Restaurant after using the bar many times. Was a little disappointing, the meat was lovely on the roast meals but far too much gravy "swimming" would be better just a little on the plate and the remainder in sauce boat, the meat pie was very dry. Nice selection of vegetables albeit... More

An enjoyable Sunday lunch, well cooked, and served within 15 minutes of my arrival. The staff cheery and polite, if not a little nervous possibly realising who I am. The dining room is entirely separate from the bar area, pleasing decor with low level jazz style music as background. Went for lunch on my own but did meet with several... More

......on several occasions, but were glad of the opportunity to stop for lunch. The Horse and Jockey is a traditional pub with a rather good varied menu. The barman was really friendly, chatting as he stoked up the wood fire. We both went for burgers, which were well cooked and came with coleslaw, fries and the best home made onion... More

Spur of the moment decision to eat out - wish we'd bought a takeaway. Based purely on Trip Advisor feedback decided to try the Horse and Jockey. The waitress was lovely, the decor ok, but the food... I ordered the Gammon as there was no steak left, my wife ordered the chicken with brie. Never thought we would have to... More

If you want excellent pub food this is the place to go, the menu is quite extensive and the food we had was great in both quality and value. I have to give special mention to the landlord who is very friendly, making the experience all the more enjoyable. Oh and the chips are some of the best I've had... More

Visited for Sunday lunch and was impressed by the selection - covering all of the basics, yet offering a great choice. I went for the roast beef and my wife the pork. Cooked perfectly and well presented with plenty of freshly prepared vegetables on the side and all piping hot. Service is friendly and efficient and overall this is good... More
