I am from the beans and bacon buttie university generation, so was pleasantly surprised to see the chef attempting nouveau cuisine and achieving good hearty tasty filling food. I ordered the soup of the day, Aubergine tagine and apple and apricot crumble. I did this as a contingency as I only expected one of the dishes to be up to... More

My wife and I visited Le Gusta with mixed views a number of months ago but this time we went at lunchtime with a four year old granddaughter. With an age range of 4 to 74 this could have been a challenge for staff --- but no out came a special menu for the little one, special range of drinks,... More

We've eaten here several times. The menu is good and prices reasonable. The room needs 'softening' - it is too hard and echo-y - but it is nonetheless attractive. The staff are attentive and friendly but they did make a couple of mistakes - needed to re-order water and items were missing from our bill. The pizza oven is a... More

My first visit, went with five other people, some of whom had been before. First impressions...not quite as restauranty as expected...more cafeteria like...ish! There was some different stuff on the menu and we all choose something we'd never had before...and I don't think anyone regretted it. Prices, not too bad. Service...okay. They had run out of coffee though when we... More

Easy to get bored in a restaurant with the same old stuff .. Le Gusta have made a real effort to offer something different-with a Moroccan flavour-whilst keeping familiar stuff too and a genuine pizza oven . Lovely food, great service-a must visit especially if visiting the theatre.

Ok, it's not haute cuisine, but it's incredibly reasonably priced and very tasty food, perfect if you're at the Arts Centre, and lovely staff. Mary our waitress was great... and they do one of the best gin Martinis east of Berlin! All the lamb dishes are very tasty, the dips are just as you'd expect... don't bother with the garlic... More

First visit here & will definitely be back. Went with my Mum, who'd been several times before, pre-cinema. We took a while to decide what to eat as I it all sounded scrummy & l love Turkish/Lebanese type food of which there was lots. Very healthy dishes & good choices for vegetarians. We ordered a sharing starter & a lamb... More

We ate here for the first time on a Saturday evening after a visit to the cinema at the Arts Centre and were underwhelmed. The place is brightly lit and more like a canteen than a restaurant and the food was very ordinary. I had a decent salad but my wife's tagine was really disappointing, chicken with the skin on... The atmosphere is more classy canteen than restaurant - I think the bright lighting lets it down a bit. Our cocktails were good, although served in tumblers full to the brim with ice, and we had to ask several times for straws. We really enjoyed the seafood sharing platter, and it was excellent value. Unfortunately the Persian lamb biriani was... More

Always loved it here but I was really disappointed when I ordered the mezzes and was given the saltiest halloumi. Totally inedible. When I complained, they told me it was a salty cheese and wouldn't even taste the dish to see what was wrong with it. I finally insisted and the manager took it off my bill but it totally... More
