Unfortunately the service received today was disappointing to say the least. Having paid for a cream tea for 2 I asked if I could have some milk for the tea. The response was rude with the jug being slammed down on the tray spilling the...More

Early breakfast of bacon rolls and tea. Light airy cafe with good food choice. Reasonable priced and tasty bacon. Good toilets. Not at all churchy but obviously an important part of cathedral life. Historic access. Didn’t see any monks though.

This cafe in the Cloisters is a good spot to have a meal or snack and centrally located in Chichester. On the Saturday I visited the hot food options were very fairly priced. There are sandwiches and cakes and other cold alternatives. There is plenty...More

Pots of tea were good but scones disappointing. Chose to sit in the garden on a very sunny afternoon but were soon pestered by a huge amount of wasps spoiling our afternoon tea. Also saddened to see a large amount of litter around cafe gardens...More

Dear Muddy Puddles, Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. I would be very interested to know why you were disappointed with our scones. Scones are one of our most popular products and not an item on which I am used to...More

While staying in Chichester we had on different days a Sunday lunch and sandwiches. The former was good value for money and the sandwiches excellent. The salad in them was so crispy and fresh, it was great to buy a sandwich that did not contain...More

We went close to closing time (4pm) on a Sunday; tea and coffee very good, cakes average. Nice shaded garden area but wasps had arrived en-masse. Reasonable value.

We stayed in Chichester for several weeks this summer and the Cloisters Cafe became one of our go to spots, probably visiting half a dozen times, usually coffee/tea and cakes, but lunch now and again. It's such a beautiful location and the ideal spot for...More

Back in March we came on a day visit to Chichester, mainly to see the Cathedral. Opted for a main meal lunch as our relative preferred something lighter in the evening at home. Good choice available and staff were helpful and friendly. Coaxed me into...More

I visited the cafe after wandering around the Cathedral. The staff were preoccupied with their conversations despite me pausing in front of them waiting to ask a question. They were not particularly enthusiastic. But the food, when it arrive, a toasted sandwich, was very tasty...More

Description
Cloisters Cafe prides itself on fair trade suppliers and freshly cooked food, featuring dishes such as smoked haddock with a gruyere and tomato gratin, supreme of chicken in a mushroom and tarragon sauce and roasted sweet potato with a bean ragu. Old favourites also appear on the menu along with baked potatoes and a range of hot and cold sandwiches. There is a roast on Sundays when bookings can be made in advance. Cloisters also has a beautiful walled garden and the stunning Cathedral spire can be seen through its glazed roof. Next to our cafe is the Cloisters Shop, offering a range of unique and gorgeous gifts and accessories, souvenirs and religious items. A perfect way to round off a visit to the Cathedral, or just to find that special present.
