Meeting our Bessies...and a first time here for both of us. Trendy and friendly. Lots of hustle and chat. Good choice of variance. Starters were excellent. 3 of the 4 mains were winners. Mine was ok, not disappointing but not exciting either, but it was...More

Had lunch here with a friend. An annual visit where we predictably always choose the fish platter and the Mediterranean platter. This year they had changed these considerably and the changes did not suit our personal tastes. The med platter had always been vegetarian, but...More

Lunchtime meet up with friends, in between bouts of retail therapy. Didn't look anything special from the outside, but once in, it's a treat. Really relaxing, great food, good prices, nice atmosphere & attentive service. Mussel starter was highly rated, lovely home made soups &...More

Great service and welcome at this cosy and intriguing restaurant. The name 'cafe' hardly does it justice. Distinctive menu--interesting cod dishes amongst a good choice of fresh fish, preceded by a pork belly starter and followed by an intriguing triple chocolate pot. Exceptionally tasty accompaniments...More

Can't fault this place (except for acoustics). Went for a celebration meal for 'end of uni and start of travels' Meal. There were 8 of us and we all enjoyed our food. The service was superb and this independent deserves to do well.

Came as a group of 6 and every course came out altogether. Opted for the 3 course early bird special for £17.50. Had the pasta starter and I couldn't fault it! Beautiful and tasty! Fish and chips for main. Chunky chips were great. Batter on...More

Either the NCP carpark by the side of the café or there is a car park at the back of the corn exchange - but depends if going day or night.

Description
The thriving centre of Leeds may be bursting at the seams with chain bars and big name restaurants but dont think for a minute theres no quirky treatments to enjoy. Arts Caf and Bar is the original hip, young Leeds hangout, combining eating, drinking and surprise local art. The bright and sunny interior, painted canary yellow and decked out in vintage-y furniture, is totally relaxed and the sort of place where you can spend a whole afternoon sipping a coffee and talking art, books and life in general. Many do. And during those long, soul searching hours you neednt go hungry, Arts offers a full a la carte menu in addition to smaller lunch dishes, which combines ethical dining with full British flavour.
