What a lovely place to stop off at when on a journey to or from somewhere. We stopped off for a coffee break on the way home from Southampton and ended up ordering a cheese board that was delicious. Although the cafe was close to closing the staff made us feel very welcome and were very happy to serve food... More

I've visited a couple of times now, most recently last Saturday where I had a family afternoon tea as my 'hen' do. We had finger sandwiches, scotch eggs, cheese straws, quiche, scones with jam and cream, brownies and flapjacks! Such a brilliant selection of food and also at amazing value. Cannot fault Bird and Carter. A special mention has to... More

We had a nice look round the farm shop before having some hot drinks and cakes which were lovely and homemade. The staff were friendly and helpful. There was the added bonus of toys for our toddlers to play with as well. Whilst there we picked up a couple of groceries which were very fresh.

Stopped here on way back from Southampton. What a treat. We both had the (vegi) pie and salad which was delicious. Followed it up with cake and coffee. We like proper home made food and this was all spot on. We have to come back this way again soon and will definitely time it so we can call in for... More

On a trip to Wiltshire, (last weekend), we came across the Deli/Farm Shop in South Newton and had a fantastic (late) lunch of quiches and mixed salads. We were so impressed that we stopped on our return journey and bought a take-away supper of raised chicken pie and more (different) mixed salads. The food was superb- excellent quality, beautifully cooked... More

This cafe situated just outside of Salisbury has a really nice feel to it.....especially on a cold morning when they light the fire in the corner of the room. Excellent hot chocolate, coffee and homemade cakes. The salad selection which goes with the lunches is great too and they're not afraid to try different combinations in sandwiches. Family friendly and... More

A friend and I met here for lunch and just wanted a light snack. We both had the soup of the day with granary bread, which was pricey compared with other cafés in Salisbury and was nothing special. The young man was pleasant but not particularly friendly. The décor is very simple and the upstairs area is basic indeed.

We stopped off here on a rather long journey. We had just time for a cup of coffee but were impressed by the varied specials board and the deli counter. Our drinks were surprising cheap. People were coming in for breakfast and brunch during our visit. Loos were nice and clean.

Now this has changed hands, very , very dirty tables, highchair, long wait for service, arguments between staff and didn't get what we ordered. Used to be lovely, now never again.
