A nicely run pub, with relaxed and friendly staff who are welcoming. Good drinks and service. Just a shame that the food was very average - the sort of stuff that pubs sold 20 years ago - frozen scampi, lumps of gammon from the fridge,...that is just uninspired and more like eating for fuel rather than enjoyment. Improve the food and it would be great.More

We had a good meal last night with our children (15,7&2) Burgers were deemed “ok”, my scampi was nice and the kids meals were huge portions! Puddings good, except the big shard of plastic in my sons spotted dick. With drinks and tip it cost...£95 which seemed reasonable. Food was hot & service good!More

Starter of mozzarella and tomatoes was tasteless, covered in fatty bacon and soaked in balsamic vinegar, Chicken Caesar salad was soaked in dressing with pale chewy chicken, far too much parmesan cheese and barely any lettuce. All tasteless and overpriced. Absolutely dreadful. Thankfully my guests...enjoyed their hot food choices.More

Managed to book a table rather late in the day. Every request was met including a quiet table. The xtensive menu was a delight to read and the choice and quality was superb. Half shoulder of lamb, lam cutlets in minted gravy and pork loin...in pepper sauce were chosen. The accompanying potato selection and veg were very good. Even though the portions were very generous our group decided to try to fit in a dessert each. The homemade profiteroles and the raspberry roulade were so light and delicious. All of this was served bunsuch friendly and helpful staff. Such a joyful evening. We will return!More

Beautiful pub in lovely location, food was excellent and plentiful. Crayfish tails & Veg soup to start. For mains I had Sea Bass (2 fillets) and the bf had a cold meat platter (similar to a ploughman’s) I never seen so much meat on one...plate. And it beat him. Would definitely recommend this jewel of a find to anyone visiting Ascot and the surrounding areaMore

Such friendly staff and a great atmosphere. It currently has a lovely outside seating area which is covered in a flexi tent so you won’t get wet whatever the weather. It’s Dog friendly as well which is always a bonus for dog parents.

The "old couple " Annie & Nick run a great pub .... complimented by the young "Team Duke ". This makes for a very favourable dining experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our Sunday lunches of succulent Roast Beef and delicious Roast Pork with crackling. The staff...were very friendly and accommodating... all you could wish for in a nice cosy pub for a Sunday lunch ... many thanks Annie & Nick you both run a super pub 🤗 LikeMore

A delight to be able to enjoy dinner after the second lockdown. COVID-19 precautions are scrupulous. An extensive menu which never fails to disappoint. The fish dishes are always excellent, the fish man delivering regularly.

Our small walking group of three couples plus Ebony booked Christmas Lunch at the Duke Of Edinburgh - a place we had eaten lunch in larger groups in previous years. We all thought that it was a great lunch. The food was excellent (with nice...hot plates), the staff couldn't do more for us and the setting was fabulous. They had erected a large tent, well decorated and nicely laid out tables and chairs. They had heaters and provided blankets. We shall be back again, soon we hope.More
