Seasonal cheer, a lovely warm environment, freshly painted. Menu was varied and service excellent. Food arrived promptly and was piping hot. Portion size generous..which means we will have to go back for pudding another time!

After living in Ascot for 20+ years we visited one Saturday lunchtime & will definitely be going back - 5* & 5 minutes away. Restaurant was full but we reserved a window table in the bar. Loads of room and great atmosphere. Waitresses were charming,...More

Very interesting menu with some unusual and delicious dishes. Large portions, exemplary service and such a change from basic pub food which one finds everywhere. We will definitely return.

We went for Sunday roast lunch. The beef was over cooked and fairly tasteless as were the vegetable bat great roast potatoes . The menu is extensive so may have chosen badly but a good roast is not that hard. Large portions and friends service.

Visited with family. Good menu selection and the food was of a good quality. Main courses were a bit pricey we thought. It was busy due to football on tv. Parking is a bit limited. Had the fish n chips, very good.More

Thank you for your recent visit and taking the time to leave a review. We are glad that you enjoyed the fish and chips but a bit shocked that you think it is pricey. There are two local pubs to us that charge £13.95 and...More

This is a charming village pub with a largish restaurant room but this does not detract from the delightfully old-fashioned pub feeling. Huge menu - dishes very generous in quantity.. Interesting mementos displayed of their favourite football club and ex-players sometimes visit (better not say...More

One of our local eateries the Duke is renowned for needing a booking, on the off chance gave a call and got in! So worth a call, you never know. Menu and specials board arguably offers too much choice, it can be a bit overwhelming....More

Good morning, we always advise people to book as we can be very busy. We allow dogs in the bar area but not the dining room.

Yes, I have eaten there many times. Always found the food to be good... Service is prompt, and the bill not too high. I have never eaten in the Rose&Crown so I can't comment, although the beer there is good.

Description
The Duke

Nick & Annie welcome you to the Duke of Edinburgh at Woodside, a traditional family run business. Here at the Duke of Edinburgh we pride ourselves in offering the highest quality of service in a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. We offer the very best in both a-la-Carte and Bar menu food, with Chef specials offered nightly. Sample our wonderful fayre and accompany your meal with choices of fine wines.

We are located just off the Windsor Road in the hamlet of Woodside, just half a mile from Ascot Racecourse. There is ample parking available, and we have a nice garden too.

The pub is over 200 years-old and has low beams, giving a cosy atmosphere. The pub was recently completely refurbished, during which time the restaurant was extended and new toilet facilities were installed.

There are two TVs in the lounge area which show the football or other sports events. As well as various beers and guest ales, there are numerous excellent wines & champagnes available.

Just along from the lounge bar area is the restaurant, with table sizes to fit all occasions (parties up to 18 catered for).

The Duke provides free WiFi access (high speed compu-fix system) for its patrons, and offers a smoking shelter with heaters, in addition to the spacious beer garden which also boasts a large avery sporting numerous types of budgerigars.

We do allow dogs in the bar and garden, but do bring a 'doggy bag' in case of an accident.
