We booked at table for 7pm which was just as well as about 30 people in total came in just after us! Service was quick but not rushed as you would expect from an Oriental restaurant. The menu is such that it can be served quickly and fresh. Lots of Thai, Japanese, Malaysian and Chinese food. Soups, curries, stir fries,... More

I wanted to go somewhere different from the norm with the kids so I suggested Mikado. My daughter had been before and had said it was reasonable and so it turned out. Mikado is housed in an old pub and where other restaurants have turned the pub aspect to their advantage (the Fat Duck for instance) the Mikado has left... More

Great takeaways from mikado every time generous portions very fresh and reasonably priced. Fabulous staff , and if you're a bit early a nice San Miguel at the bar and a few prawn crackers is just the trick

So my wife, myself and 2 other couples met up as we do around once a month for a nice meal/drinks so thought we would try somewhere different, came here... we turned up first having booked a table, took 10 minutes before even being noticed, then they said no table booked, it was very busy in there and only looked... We (wife and myself) visited Mikado a couple of weeks ago to check out what the menu had to offer. The restaurant itself seems lacking in decor, seemed a bit cold and open and the waiter didn't seem too interested. I don't think the bar stocked Asahi, which isn't a huge issue but does take away the authentic feel if... More

Reading through other reviews I was somewhat apprehensive when I last visited Mikado's. I'm starting to grow really fond of sushi and wanted to upgrade myself from the chain type Sushi restaurant (you know who I mean) to something a bit more authentic. I visited on a weekday early evening and the restaurant was very quiet. We were seated and... More

A very average chinglish eating experience. Tempura prawns fried in chip shop batter, for one. Small dishes in general, for another and a particularly uninvolved and bored team of servers. Can only continue in business due to life of local competition.

These guys do great food. Try their fillet steak teriyaki, or the prawns in ginger. Tried their mango dessert too.....great! :)

Staff were friendly. Tables very sticky. Tempura extremely greasy! California rolls were good. Staff needs to be more familiar with the menu when asked questions.

My daughter-in-law had a significant birthday meal there yesterday and took over the whole restaurant for the afternoon. Food delicious and beautifully presented, service superb - the staff worked so hard - excellent all round. As a non-meat eater, I was treated particularly well. Very good that they served the children first.
