Really good food with choice between a la carte and set 2/3 course. A nice weekday break from cooking - staff were attentive and the layout good with decent spacing. That was most welcome as one of the diners next to us was coughing their...way through their meal which was a bit off putting but not the venue’s fault. It does raise the question though with heightened attention to spreading of illness due COVID should diners stay at home if suffering! Anyway, we mixed the set meal and the a la carte for some excellent pate/fish cake to start, risotto/pork cheek for main and sticky toffee pud/Eton Mess for dessert. All great tastes and quality and really well presented. Good value too at £30 for the 3 course set - watch the times though as I don’t think that’s available every night but TBH the a l carte was reasonably priced too. Couldn’t fault the experience - we will go again if in area.More
As ever Gilbey’s did not let me down celebrating a milestone birthday with 27 of my friends in the Gallery Private Dining room. Everybody had a great evening due to the fantastic food, great wines and brilliant service. Thanks again Gilbey’s Eton.
Needed somewhere to eat on the Friday we arrived. We made a quick trip across the river and came across Gilbeys, it looked just like the place i like to eat in. Quiet and cosy, it serves tremendous food, with attentive staff.
would highly recommend
Great meal - A long time since last there but............ They have expanded and are bigger/more spacious/more ambient and generally better!
Food very good (Scallops/Pate and Fish cakes as starters) and mains equally strong with the Pork Belly and Sea Bass making great impressions.
Wine...list again fitting most pockets (high to low rollers)
Great place and thoroughly recommended.More
Gilbys is one of my favourite places for lunch. The set menu is good value & the food is delicious. The staff are always really friendly & helpful. we went on the 4th September, I didn’t catch the lady’s name that served us but she...definitely made us feel welcome. We can’t wait to visit again soon.More
