Stopped here for a quick drink whilst browsing the shops and had a really refreshing larger shandy. Not a very large place but enjoyed the drink even though there was a lipstick mark on the glass (I drank from the other side) They do meals...as there was a menu outside.More

Its adjacent to the main entrance to the castle for which you might expect to pay a premium. But 100% is a bit of a tourist rip off. It became obvious afterwards as it was the only pub which was almost empty with plenty of...outdoor seating. All we wanted was a quick refresh after a long walk so ordered 4 halves of bitter shandy. When the girl behind the bar said £19 and she didn’t even fill them up I was flabbergasted. I said that if I am paying that then I at least expect a half pint. She eventually managed to top up the partly filled glasses. When I questioned the price she explained she thought it was expensive when she started. You would have thought after the last two years of dire trade for pubs during Covid 19 they would at least want to attract trade rather than repel customers. Just across the road a 100yds away is a Weatherspoons. I would advise anyone to visit there where it’s half the price. When I decide to visit Windsor again I will certainly avoid The Horse and Groom.More

Stopped off at this beautiful pub, just a stones throw from Windsor Castle. My daughter & I both devoured the fish & chips whilst sat upstairs enjoying the great views. Lovely pub, lovely food, lovely staff!

After a visit to Windsor Castle, my wife and I decided to stop at this beautiful little pub for a bite to eat and some well needed refreshments! I devoured the chicken pie which was excellent and my wife went to battle with an enormous...portion of fish & chips, equally of excellent quality. Lovely, friendly service from Amy & Cormac who have recommended some other pubs in Windsor owned by the same people. We will definitely be trying these out while we are here if this little gem is anything to go by!More

The majority of our visit taken up by waiting for the food to turn up... we were waiting an hour only for the wrong order to turn up. We were overcharged as- 3 scampi and chips were put onto our order "by mistake" though they...were not going to tell us about this mistake despite realising it when we rejected the scampi and chips as not part of our order. It was only my Aunties maths calculations that saved us from being £37.50 out of pocket as she realised £101.50- even at Windsor (in the county of London) was a ridiculous price for a lunch for 5...Especially when two of us shared 3 starters, one had a starter. None of us had alcohol and 2 of us just had tap water... I would call this very overpriced and the portions not very big... Wouldn't recommend AT ALL Thanks, Katie If I could I would have given this 0 starsMore

Very disappointed. Got there at 20:45 to look at the brilliant view of Windsor Castle only to be told that the pub shuts @ 20:30. Very short & unhelpful it apologetic! Height of the season too - no explanation!!

Nice pub across from castle entrance. Busy during the day but at night after the crowds go home it is a nice intimate pub that gets quiet. Chips and the burger were good. My fish and chips was very good.

We always enjoy coming to this cosy pub on our visits to Windsor, and today was no exception! We had a nice friendly welcome, and the staff were very helpful with explaining what a ‘substantial’ meal would be to accompany our drinks - in line...with government restrictions at the time of writing. We really loved the carrot soup of the day - a real winter warmer on what was a chilly december day. We also really enjoyed our big chunky tuna sandwiches and tasty salads too - all at a very reasonable price from what was a great menu. The atmosphere was cosy and quiet, with a big log fire in the other bar - and we loved all the christmas decs. Well done whoever chose the music too - it was mainly classic rock music, on at a low volume, and really added to the enjoyment of our visit. It’s great when establishments get this small (but important) thing right. We really enjoyed our visit, and it was great to come back this real jewel in Windsor’s crown - literally on the doorstep of the castle - back open. If you’ve never been, come and see for yourself!More

No the pub is on a pedestrianised cobbled area within yards of Windsor Castle. There are a couple of municipal/NCP car parks nearby. One is open plan near the river, the other a multi-storey attached to a shopping centre.
