Glad to see this fabulous restaurant/ bar back open. We know staff shortages have been a challenge. It was great to drop in last night a glass of Rose and meet the staff. They have a new menu which we did not have time to...sample but offers a different style of dining with many new sharing plates. The staff were engaging and very informative 👏 Wishing them every success over the festive seasonMore

Great B&D restaurant (one of the chain) Fabulous food and the venue is both quirky and intimate - Great ambience. Make sure you book and when there have a play around with their wine list - One of the best in the area

We visited in 2018, but the format won't let me choose correctly! My daughter and I had scones, clotted cream and tea and my 15 year old granddaughter had Eton mess. We all really enjoyed the experience.

This restaurant had been a favourite of ours for years. A lovely cosy, comfortable setting and excellent food. They do a great vegan nut roast on Sunday with all the trimmings, and their spicy popcorn prawns are delicious too. I had the marinated fig, charred...broccoli and quinoa salad today and it was amazing! The chocolate delice was so good last time I had it again today! Brilliant, friendly service too!More

We came here for drinks. Their own branded gin is a definite ‘must try’.... very nice!! We will definitely try the food next time.

Got very excited to visit this restaurant and picked out some options beforehand. However, on arrival, the menu had been significantly reduced and it felt like some meals have been made smaller (sides reduced and appeared on the sides list for £4.50). I am fine...with the menu reducing due to current situation, but this should be reflected on the website. Wine choices very good and enjoyed a bottle of white which was reasonably priced. Great and yummy starters, but the mains were a bit lack lustre. I ordered the chicken Milanese which was fine, but presentation was a bit poor and egg well overdone. Would return if someone suggested this place. But wouldn’t rush back.More

I visited this restaurant the weekend before lockdown so this review is not to comment just on my last experience but as a comparison between pre and post pandemic experiences. The regulations are many and challenging (quite rightly) but without doubt in my experience they...have changed a venue experience beyond recognition i some instances. But NOT at Bel and the Dragon. We instantly felt welcome and relaxed. Whilst reminded in the very best of ways to adhere to the necessary protocols we felt relaxed and welcome. Alex - remembered me from my previous visit with my sister - which was so lovely and Steve (the manager) was much like a Swan (calm and effortlessly great at his job whilst clearly working extremely hard, keeping his eyes on everything - and delivering training to a new recruit at the same time!) The food......... was again completely delicious. Thoughtful, well balanced plates of loveliness. Still an excellent range of menu choices - which is not the case in many venues who are running in some instances a much pared down menu and a lovely wine list. The venue is in itself - lovely. An old building, full of original features and charm. It is the staff however that make this venue such a lovely place to be in these times where a bit of 'lovely' is sometimes very hard to find.More
