We visited at the weekend and it was busy which added to the atmosphere. To start we had confit of duck croquettes, tempura scallops and foie gras. Excellent starters, paired with a rather lovely cabernet sauvignon to wash it down. The duck croquettes just melted...in the mouth. For mains we had chicken supreme, rabbit and monk fish. Absolutely superb course, all meals were hot and tasty, nicely presented and devoured in their entirety. The chaps had a dessert wine (which wasn't very dessert-wine-esque) and port. An espresso finished dinner off. This is a lovely long and thin restaurant which has great staff and a lovely vibe. It was full of couples, families and some with children. They really seem to cater for all. It would have been 5 stars but I visited the loo just before we left. Had I done so before we dined, we would not have stayed! Management, both the ladies & gents loos need a serious makeover (and clean).More

Spoilt for choice in Windsor - we booked here based on reviews & food pictures which all looked great. Happy to say it did not disappoint. Higher end than some it is definitely worth a visit & all the food was perfectly prepared & presented....The style is more classical with a chef to cook / prepare at the table when required & we enjoyed the spectacle when it was our turn - our kids chose the steak tartare which was prepared accordingly & the taste was excellent. Our fish mains also very good as were the starters - with the pigeon in particular standing out.More

Came for lunch and had the Prix Fixe three course lunch for £19. It was superb. Everything was cooked to perfection, expertly spiced and seasoned and very fresh. Service is unfussy and professional. Drinks were also delicious. I cannot recommend this highly enough. Two courses...£14, three for £19. Bargain of the century.More

Wow wow wow! Is all I can say about this restaurant! I have never tasted food as good as this in my life and I am extremely critical with food. The service was excellent, above and beyond. I had the snails and the monkfish… literally...like a party in my mouth! I would highly recommend anyone to visit this restaurant! 5******++More

We were taken to a la russe for hubby's 60th birthday treat by his cousins. Mussels x 2 and prawns x1 for starters were both excellent. Mains fillet steak, Kiev, duck were all very good but my monkfish was the best ever, simply delicious, melted...in the mouth. Very good sides to accompany. Amazing food at very reasonable prices. Well worth a visit.More

We booked at short notice on Friday evening and Pasquale was very accommodating and gave us our favourite seats upstairs. The food is superb and we have never yet been disappointed with the quality. When many restaurants have reduced their menus to the bare minimum...A la russe are still offering a full and varied selection. They have just updated their menu and, as we were unable to decide, we actually ordered 3 starters! Turns out we were not the only table to do so! The restaurant itself is french in style and refreshingly unique. It’s old style charm at its best! How many places these days offer complementary warm bread to start your meal? The staff are polite and friendly and I would heartily recommend eating there.More

We took the boat from Runnymede and on arriving at Windsor we decided to walk a little past the castle and away from the tourists. So glad that we did! A La Russe was far better than we expected and at a very reasonable price....We went for the prix fixe lunch menu and all 4 of us tried different meals but none of us were disappointed. Fresh cooked dishes with great flavours and presentation. Decor is traditional French with a whimsical feel. Waitress was charming and helpful. Will definitely visit again at every opportunity.More
