Fantastic experience service and carvery food. Anyone butt picks this pub they must be bitter competition or very sad negative people. Cheers guys see you soon. I am not friends employee relatives of this fine pub and staff.
We celebrated mine and my twin brother's birthday here with our family and booked online. It all went well with the booking and they rang us to confirm a couple of days before, ensuring our wishes were met. The staff are wonderful and friendly and...work incredibly hard. Our starters and drinks were lovely, but the chips that we had with our mains tasted strange, almost like they had been cooked in corn oil. It may be just a matter of preference to taste, though, as they were hot and fresh. Sadly, two of my family member's apple crumbles were returned untouched as they were cold, but these were kindly deducted from the bill.
I had a liqueur coffee and had to give it to my friend, as it tasted as if there was half a pint of whisky in it. Again, maybe just a matter of taste!
We had taken in a birthday cake which a lovely young girl brought out to us and sang Happy Birthday to us, which made our day!
We felt that the restaurant lacked a little atmosphere, and is quite tired and dated. A couple of chair cushions were ripped and frayed, and it would just bring the place to life with a lick of paint and some brighter lighting.
All in all, a nice afternoon there with fantastic and attentive staff.More

My wife collected a takeaway carvery tonight. The food was delicious and the portion size was great. The gravy is to die for. She had a small accident with the takeaway and the manager was so understanding and helpful I feel it only right that...I write this review to sing his praises. I wholeheartedly recommend this pub to everyone! Great food and lovely staff.More
We booked and arrived for 18.00 and were warmly greeted into the dining area.
The covid precautions were very good with tables correctly spaced and the staff wearing face masks.
The starters were served quickly ( c 10 minutes ) and were most tasty on...hot plates.
The main courses soon followed and were excellent.
The 2 young waiters were most attentive and polite.
All in all, an excellent meal for our party of 3 and at a reasonable price.
We will certainly dine here again in the not too distant future.More
Unfortunately we were only able to visit The Round of Gras for one meal this year owing to my husbands motor bike tours, and had to make a special round trip of probably 120 miles whereas normally we have pottered around the Cotswolds but calling...in for our meal. Pleased to say it was worth every mile, never disappoints, good selection of meals with asparagus as the main ingredient. Loved my garlic bread, cooked just the way I like it. Missed being able to visit last year owing to restrictions. All table service this year and extremely helpful and attentive staff. It was getting busy when we left. They also offer an extensive menu which we must call in and try one of these days. Well worth our journey. See you again but out of Asparagus season. Thank you.More
This pub has an annual emphasis on serving asparagus during the local season. Evesham is one of the traditional centres of asparagus growing in the UK. So May - June it has an asparagus menu with the local produce. (The usual menu is also available.)...Most years I make a visit during the asparagus season. First time today for a couple of years. The food was, as usual excellent pub food, well served and I had an enjoyable meal.More
Was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food here. The salmon was delicious and the sausages and mash came with lots of veg which isn't always the case. Friendly staff greeted us. Would recommend.
My husband and I came for lunch here in early June 2021.
We ordered one meal from the asparagus menu and a scampi dish : I mentioned to the waitress that the price of the scampi was not the same as that quoted on the...pubs website.
But it was only when we got home and studied the bill that we realised that the asparagus meal we'd ordered was actually charged at £3 more than the price on the website.
I understand that prices have risen, especially in this very different year. But the pub has been closed for months so surely there was time to update the website? There was clearly time enough to update the prices in the restaurant!
We telephoned the manager a couple of days later but his attitude was that prices are what they are advertised on the day, in the venue.
But when you're pensioners on a limited budget an increase of £3 really does matter.
The Round of Gras needs to get it's act together - they are not even aware that in the local magazine called The Vale there is an advertisement for the asparagus meals currently being served which have completely different prices to either the website or the menus in the restaurant.
So please be warned that what you're expecting to pay may not resemble the bill you are presented with at the end of your visit!More
