We visited the blue bird tea rooms after walking past many of times and wondering whether a tea room would be our cup of tea! However we were wrong! the menu offered just as much as the other local cafes including my all time favourite "English breakfast" we both opted for fresh coffee Lattes...and ordered a very reasonably priced breakfast... This restaurant is small and quaint, very clean with nice table cloths. The two rooms which make up the dining area are separated by a wall divider and are situated on the top floor giving panoramic views of the main shopping streets outside. This pleasant environment is supplemented with lovely decor and a display of works of art. The original... More

Lovely afternoon tea with homemade carrot cake. Just what was needed on a cold grey Saturday! Very quaint - tables (with tablecloths!) in two small rooms upstairs with baskets for muddy boots. They seem to have thought of everything. Would thoroughly recommend it.

Been calling into the Blue Bird for many years. Hadn't been for some time but it is still as good. Excellent home made food and cakes. Gets busy so may need to wait for a table.
