This was my second visit here and despite some issues, my actual meal, a jacket with tuna mayo, was perfectly acceptable and quite tasty. However, there were a number of problems: I was with 3 friends and the meal of chicken breast and chips for...More

First visit. Food arrived quite quickly and was very good. Unfortunately the gin and tonic I had was tasteless. Masses of ice put in the glass without asking if it was required.

A reasonably priced breakfast with very quick service, although the tables were not the cleanest at such a quiet time in the morning.

As soon as we got to the bar we were rudely greeted by the staff, we all had non alcoholic drinks but still had to show ID the man serving us was very rude and arrogant. Then we went to find a table, most of...More

Great day/ night with a few friends. Meals and drinks, we took advantage of the new iorder app, while all staff were friendly and attentive service was still quick and efficient. Highly recommend!

Called on market day and although arriving just before noon, already quite busy. Order taken quickly and efficiently by friendly staff. Food arrived in good time but some parts of meal only luke warm. Stale food left on carpet around nearby tables, not a good...More

Wetherspoons are usually reliable and fairly consistent. This place is in need of a refit having a distinctly worn appearance. Staff were fairly efficient and friendly but food was a little slow arriving, my side salad was without any tomato, I usually get a couple...More

Coming from Australia, we are not familiar with Wetherspoons but have had a couple of really good experiences on previous visits in Yorkshire. Presuming the standard would be across the board, we were looking forward to our meal at Abergavenny. Food was OK and of...More

Thank you for your feedback regarding your visit. We do make every effort to ensure tables are clean and reset within a timely manner. At 8pm last night we did have a large funeral party up and leave all at the same time, leaving a...More

Cannot fault the staff, prices, food or drink but the decor and surroundings are very drab. Worst looking Wetherspoon's pub I have been in, very dated.More

Thank you for your feedback, we have started to recover the furniture within the premises. With the closure of our pub in Monmouth and the opening of Brecon works have been delayed, we will be looking to get the customer area redecorated this side of...More

Always found this to be the most convenient and cheapest (and nice) food in the meal deals. Today was burger fries and a pint (soft drink with meal £5.40 each). The menu has changed recently but still good all round food and never kept waiting...More

Description
Pub History This Wetherspoon pub is the former Coliseum cinema, which opened in 1913 and screened its last film in the 1990s. The first permanent film show in Abergavenny was around 1912, when a Victorian corrugated iron hall on Park Road was used as the Picture Palace. The following year, the Abergavenny Coliseum Company acquired land in Lion Street, and the Coliseum opened on 3 November 1913. In mid 1989, the cinema's stalls were converted to shops with a cinema above. By 1998, the Coliseum had become a bingo hall, with various shop units, and is now this Wetherspoon pub.
