We visited the very well presented pub for lunch yesterday. Conwy was busy, so we were lucky to get a “walk in” table. I chose the filet of cod dish. It was one of the most delicious things I have eaten in years. My friends...had the beef brisket, both were super impressed with the food. Only thing that let the experience down was the way you had to pay the bill when ordering which cheapened the experience a little. Overall, lovely lunch in very pleasant surroundings. I can’t wait to return.More

We ate here on our last night and it was the most expensive and worst meal of our 6 night stay. As the previous review stated the beef brisket was very over cooked and dry. The lamb was less than pink being totally raw in...the middle and chewy and tasteless. The kidneys were tasty. The deserts were better but over priced.More

Overpriced for what it is. Our food ranged from mediocre to bad. Definitely won't be going again. We had the seafood starter sharing platter. Every bit of it had clearly come straight from a jar onto the plate. That's fine for rollmops and smoked salmon,...but for twenty quid I don't think it's too much to expect a homemade prawn cocktail. For mains, I had slow-cooked beef brisket which was really dry and overcooked. So much so that I left half of it. My partner had seafood linguine, which had the really tiny and watery prawns you get frozen in the supermarket. The worst part of the pasta though was that it was swimming in olive oil (literally, I initially thought it was a soup style sauce). It was really oilly and just not nice. In short. I would avoid this place.More

We stayed on the 13th. Lovely pub/hotel. Friendly staff. Lovely room which had an extremely comfy bed. Shower over bath was fine. Only let down was the view over cluttered rooftops at the back of the hotel but this is out of their control. Dinner...was fantastic. Freshly cooked. Char Sui pork belly on bed of vegetable noodles was amazing. My wife had the lamb which she thoroughly enjoyed. Breakfast equally tasty. Highly recommend a stay here.More

We visited for lunch in this chipshop-dominated little town crammed with visitors, and were directed to the bar by the non-masked greeter because we had not booked a table in advance (we were first time visitors to the town). My order of pasta with seafood...was pleasant if not exactly as described on the menu, but my husband's serving of chicken pie with vegetables was poor with watery mash and overcooked accompaniments. None of the staff were wearing masks, they did not challenge patrons failing to wear them, we saw no hand sanitiser and were not asked for track and trace information. Accordingly we went elsewhere for dessert. Unfortunately on this experience, could not recommend.More

We visited during a stay in Conwy and came for a decent Sunday roast which we definitely got! For a starter we both had popcorn chicken with a curry mango mayo which was amazing. We also had the same choice for are main which was...the roast beef brisket. Excellent roast dinner which particularly good Yorkshire pudding. We both agreed was one of the best roasts we’d ever had all in a lovely building with very good staff.More

Best beef roast I’ve eaten out anywhere. Friendly staff and lovely atmosphere too. We booked for mid afternoon and in some places this can mean the roast is served past its best but not at this place. Everything was cooked perfectly and delivered to the...table nice and hot. We had great puds too- in particular the Rhubarb Creme Brûlée was wonderful.More

What a lovely pub/restaurant. Rarely do you find such excellent table service. At no point did I have to ask for anything. The food was excellent (Sunday roasts all round - stunning nut roast) and INCREDIBLE puddings. Did I mention... The service was FABULOUS.

We don't have a car park on site but there is plenty of parking within the centre of Conwy. We do have a few spaces for guests out the front of the property but these are taken on a first come first serve basis so we cannot... More
