We went to have some dinner because I had seen some good reviews and the food was lovely and hot. We went into the cafe because the take away was busy. We will visit again

I wouldn't really call the sit down area a restaurant , it's basic and a bit worn but was spotlessly clean when we visited it. If you like fish and chips then you'll need to go a long way to find better. The batter on my fish was crispy, light and tasted superb. Nothing more I can add.

The fish and chips are fresh and delicious and very decently priced. In spite of my bias as a patron of our local fish and chips shop which is a national winner three years in a row, I could not help feeling impressed by the service and the quality. We opted for takeaway, but there is a restaurant on site.

We went in at about 7pm on a Saturday and we were immediately made welcome by the staff. Easy menu to choose from, we went for the fish, chips, peas, slice of bread and cup of tea. Just perfect, the chips were proper chippy chips and the batter was the best batter I've ever tasted - so light. I think... More

My husband had battered cod and chips here, costing £7.25. Went in on a Friday evening about 7pm and it was empty. Service was excellent and very friendly and food was delicious. The cod was thick, very tender, tasted lovely - my husband loved it. The chips were also very good. Can of diet coke was nice and cold. Brother... More

A couple of chip barms and a portion of curry sauce with onions in it. Sat by the stream and really really enjoyed it. Crispy light hot chips. Not the cheapest, but very good. Again, I'd go back there without hesitation.

After walking around Betws, and since we were parked near the old bridge and cataract in the river, it was fish and chips to take back to our cottage for tea. Service was quick and friendly, but even better was the beautifully fresh cod and chips cooked to perfection when we got the food home (and still piping hot). There... More

We have been coming to Betws for years and we always call in here for our fish and chips. We had a sit in meal of Fish Chips and mushy peas. with coffee and bread and butter all for £15. it was the biggest helping of fish and chips. One meal would have done for both of us.All the food... More

Lovely food, chips were very nice. Other half had cod which was freshly cooked and she said was lovely. I asked for a Mince and onion pie, to which I was told they only had chicken and mushroom, steak and kidney, meat and potato. I chose meat and potato. A Pukka pie is a pukka pie so nice anyway. Being... More

We had take out fish and chips. Fish was nice and the chips ok, but served in polystyrene boxes so got cold and greasy fast. Not very clean inside.
