this is a well apointed pub in a quiet village. The welcome was good and so was the selection of drinks. The food was good but slightly overpriced.

We were staying near by at a camp site and was so please to find this pub in the same village. The staff were friendly and attentive. The menu was full of locally sourced produce that was prepared perfectly and tasted amazing. We chose to eat here on both nights we were in the camp site. It is situated by... More

Nice faggotts and steak served with cheap, disappointing dry chips and mixed veg that consisted of a very small bowl of peas, broad beans with flecks of carrot and cabbage. We had a trip on the canal which backs on to this pub. The staff were really friendly and the food was fresh. We had mainly sandwiches but was more than just that. Really nice and worth a visit

My 10 year old niece and I went to the pub on a Tuesday evening at 7.30pm and asked if we could order some food. We were told that they were fully booked. Looking around the pub about two thirds of the tables were empty so I assumed that they meant there was a separate restaurant area that was full.... More

We visited The Royal Oak in March. We had a warm welcome and having pre-booked for a party of 8 we had no problems being seated. Half of our party went for the faggots and they were very good indeed, really flavoursome with a luscious texture and a rich gravy. The others had the steak, which looked fairly average and... More

The food is delicious and comes in a good amount of time. The beer is good too. Some people have said to me that they would like... More

picture postcard canalside pub in Pencelli which is about 2 miles from Brecon serving really good inspiring food using fresh local produce. We have eaten there several times and the food has always been excellent.
