This is a lovely restaurant with wonderful service and great views of you are lucky (like us) to get a window seat. The food was very different and a little random! I had spiced cod with linguine and an apple salad. My partner had the salmon. Both tasted very different but also very yummy. To start, the Camembert, fig and... More

We had Easter Sunday Lunch at The Castle in Brecon and it was absolutely delicious. Roast lunch is a tricky thing for restaurants to get right but Rob and his team at the Castle produced a superb cavary. It was very busy but we didn't feel rushed. The service was excellent but unobtrusive. Well done. We'll be back. Highly recommended,... More

We have been threating to visit the Castle Hotel for a long time and we weren't disappointed. My husband and I had the carvery Sunday lunch and to my delight they had an option of rare or well done roast beef which was quite unusual and it was delicious!! we aren't great lovers of carvery, however it was better than... We stayed here overnight so decided 2 eat in the Bistro. Waiter not so friendly although not rude as such but as tourists I would expect some interaction. No complaints about the Steak or the Lamb chops apart from no mint sauce, I would have gone 2 shop 2 buy some if it was my establishment. We also had our... More

As a group we eat in many restaurants and hotels and are critical people. The 7 of us could not have hoped for better food, with great warm service with a back drop to die for. Loved this restaurant in a beautiful hotel. Thank you to the chef, the waitresses and the rest of the staff for the breakfast and... More

Went to the Castle for the first time in many years. The bistro, resturant and bar were light and airy, and the menu was wide-ranging. The bistro where we ate was comfortable, the food was excellent, as was the service. I shall certainly choose to eat there again on my next visit to Brecon.

Called in for lunch yesterday, and I was pleased to see it so busy. A lot of people were taking advantage of the excellently priced carvery, which was 2 courses for £8.95. It looked good too. We just had a snack, and again this was very nice and a good sized portion. Staff were friendly, and it was an overall... More

Plenty of choices including buffet/carvery and menu. Good service and tasty food. The day we came the car park was full and no immediate street parking either.
