From the moment you walk in your know you are welcome in this buzzing Inn. The bar is packed with locals and holiday makers and they serve excellent Wye Valley beer. There are tables in the bar area and a large room behind plus tables in the garden. Besides the beer there is a full range of wines, spirits and... More

Although we were from out of town, we could see that this was a nice, down to earth local pub. People were friendly and it seemed to value its place in the community.

We booked this pub as a treat for having climbed Pen Y Fan during the day! We were greeted in a very friendly manner and sat by a lovely log burner. The menu was traditional and offered something for everyone in our party - meat eaters and vegetarians alike. The hot rock dishes were excellent and great fun! It was... More

Good old Tripadvisor came up trumps with this restaurant following the inability of our hotel to cater for us! Sometimes when you enter a pub in a community, everyone stares at you, but that was not the case here! We were shown to our table and order some good local beer whilst ordering our food. We choose the stark on... More

Went with family last night, there were 12 of us altogether including children. Fast and friendly service and great food, a few of us had the hot rock menu which was very nice and quite unusual if you haven't tried it before

Cosy atmosphere with log burners. Very good food, including a reasonable selection of vegetarian options, served very quickly by pleasant staff. New extension houses superb modern toilets. Handy for the Monmouth and Brecon Canal Basin, boat trips, walks and cycling.

We scouted this place out before choosing to come for dinner. But seeing the novelty of how they cook the Steaks (we've seen before), this place ticked the box. The staff were really friendly, and the locals all wanted to make a fuss of our dog and lil one which made us feel all the more welcome. Highly recommended.

What a place. Full of character and characters! We booked a table here for after the six nations rugby games on Saturday night, even though it was busy they accommodated our table of seven. The food was served timely and was of high quality. The steak cooked on the rock was tasty!!!

Arrived late with a coachload of over 40 starving people after bus had broken down, firstly they accommodated the fact we were late with a smile and a warm welcoming and then served up one of the best sunday lunches I've had in a long time. I went for the Chicken while hubby had lamb and while both was delicious... More

We arrived late but no problem. We had time to get settled before being served a variety of meats or vegetarian on piping hot plates. Boiled potatoes & a good choice of veg were served separately. Extra gravy for anyone who needed. Efficient, friendly service. They checked everything was fine early on. Some had room for dessert from a good... More

Description
The Clarence Inn is a "Pub that does food!"
Our aim is to provide quality food and drink in a pleasant and friendly environment, with the attraction of a large beer garden with real grass and occasional sunshine. Home cooked Sunday lunches are extremely popular so booking is advisable. And cooking your own steak on one of our super heated rocks is definitely worth a try.
