Had a great Gurkha Curry. Very tasty. Friendly staff and the Gurkha lager is very nice. When you walk in in does look a bit of a dump. One down point we visited in February on a cold evening. But the radiators were not on in the dining room. A bit chilly for us. But it was nice and warm... More

First Impressions The delightful curry house is located in the heart of the Brecon town and run retired Gurkha. It is a cosy restaurant and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. The Food & Service This was my first visit to a Nepalese Restaurant and I was not disappointed. Nepal has diverse geographical regions and this is reflected on... More

This little place serves typical nepalese food, which are so different from Indian. the curries and other dishes are lighter than the ones from the sub continent and whilst i love Indian its a pleasant change to have the Gurkha version they will also make a nice fruit lassi for you at the end. as with all Nepalese people the... Went for diner on Saturday night. Restaurant got very busy. Overall experience wasn't great. Starters were ok. Incorrect mains were brought to us. Waitress didn't believe us until she went and checked the order and confirmed we were right! When she brought them out we were left no cutlery or plates so had to get her attention to bring them... The restaurant is small inside with only a handful of tables, but this makes for an intimate and cosy visit. The food treated wonderfully fresh and full of flavour, however I felt the lamb chop and pork sekuwa we had as starters were slightly over cooked. The main course curries can be ordered as mild, medium, hot or extra hot.... More

Was here for a large family meal a few days after Christmas day and had a really lovely evening meal. I can't eat tomatoes and they did a really good job of making a nice veggie curry without them. They said it might be a bit dry, but I didn't find it dry at all. Most of us had starters... More

First time we've eaten in a Gurkha restaurant and found the poppadom and dips amongst the best we've tasted. The starter and main courses were very tasty and just the correct amount of food Would definitely recommend it.

If you want something a little different than Chinese or Indian...this restaurant is perfect! It's Nepalese food, which mixes the two with some new flavours in there as well. The food is made by Ghurka chefs and is 100% authentic. The restaurant in Abergavenny is very big, and the one in Brecon is very small but has a brilliant atmosphere,... More

Was looking forward to having a great meal here after reading all the great reviews but I left a little disappointed. The staff were very friendly and helpful and service was (unnervingly) quick however the food was just ok. I had a veggie curry which appeared to be just a few bits of random veg floating in a yellow curryish... More

It was good to find them open as everywhere else had closed due to the lateness of the hour. A very tasty and spicy meal. I had Indian the night before so I was looking for soemthing different; here it was.
