Enjoyed an exceptional meal, with great company, lovely cocktails and first class service. It wasn't a particularly busy night in the restaurant but that didn't stop our waitress (Emma Redrum) providing a service like no other. Friendly, bubbly and funny...it was the perfect accompaniment to...our delicious steaks.More

An early evening visit, booked as a gift, that was very much enjoyed. The surroundings were tasteful and everything was clean and tidy. The staff were all immaculate and professional and the service was excellent. The food was up to the standard you would expect...and the starters, prawn cocktail and scotch egg, we're superb. The signature steaks were cooked to perfection although seemed to be lacking somewhat in taste. The sauce, however, more than made up for that. On the whole, an immensely pleasurable experience that, hopefully, we can enjoy again in the future.More

Such a dissappointing meal. It looks pretty good, but doesn't reach the dizzying heights you would expect for a name such as MPW. A "beetroot and goats cheese salad". Its a fan of sliced beetroot with the smallest amount of goats cheese, not worth it....The Scotch egg, although decently tasty, no runny yolk which should be a must when served fresh. The mains were pretty awful. Fillet steak and garlic prawns, decent size for the prawns and steak, but an overly bitter taste throughout the meal, as if the the garlic had been burnt and the prawns were gritty. I feel they hadn't been cleaned. Then there's the shepards pie. An overly strong initial wine type taste that just lingered and over powered anything else. Mash that wasn't fluffy or buttery as promised and meat as dry as the potatoes. Service started off nicely and nice atmosphere, but as the evening went on, the atmosphere became loud and the staff frantic. There was a great piano player doing some nice songs, but positioned so far away you couldn't hear her great renditions (including some Green Day). Listening to people around us, it wasnt just us bitterly disappointed with the food (dry burgers seemed quite popular). A name like MPW holds a certain expectation, one very much not achieved or reached in this occasion. Some definite work needed in order to properly establish itself as a restaurant that stands up to the MPW name. Looks nice, both the decor and the food, but a pretty picture doesn't capture tge imagination, and the only thing I imagined, was eating somewhere better.More

Not bad by any means, But no better than other chain restaurants for lower budgets in all honesty. Really nice setting and atmosphere, friendly staff. But one of the steaks was over cooked and other quite a bit of sinue unfortunately. Overall, evening was overpriced...and disappointed and no desire to go back really.More

Positives - Lovely restaurant, decor nice and modern, relaxing environment. Negatives - Don’t expect service with a smile, and although staff were pleasant when taking orders, this was extremely slow. When asked if we wanted to see the desert menu, after a long wait, this...never arrived, so we requested the bill and sadly left earlier than planned. The food - it was good but not great and certainly not good value for many. (Our food orders were also wrong and chips were late to the table) Suggestions - Order two drinks on arrival, I guarantee a dry wait for your next one. Important FYI - There is a service charge added to your bill which we were not aware of as these are usually associated with larger groups but there were only two of us. Ours was £10.41 but as mentioned, we were not aware of this until afterwards. Something to be mindful of. Would I go again? Probably not.More

Met with friends for Sunday lunch. Lovely bar area for pre lunch drinks and small area outside to take in the late summer sunshine . Sunday lunch menu was good value and was tasty with generous portions . What really stood out though was the...staff and in particular Lee - he was so helpful witty and funny- he really made the visit special and memorable - he’s a credit to the restaurant and I’d come back because of the way he treated us . Thanks Lee!More

With the ambiance of a bad club it’s all smiles if you are lucky. Terrible service. Not a lot happened for us so we left.

So first the good points - the restaurant itself is stunning. The servers were brilliant, and the entertainment was lovely. Drinks were nice - very expensive but nice. Starters I opted for a scotch egg which was so tasty! My main came and I ordered...a burger called the colonel. The meat was unfortunately burnt. It came with a side of fries which were bog standard and I ordered Mac and cheese to go with it. The Mac and cheese was quite bland and too crumby. I was so disappointed with the mains I didn’t opt for a desert. I can’t fault the evening as the servers were brilliant and quick. But I don’t think I’d return as I expected more from the food.More

Arrived at 7.30pm prompt. Placed between 2 large groups who were very noisy and asked to be moved. No problem - moved to mate central location. Drinks did not arrive for 45 minutes. G&T served in a highball glass ? And an old fashioned server...with more orange segments than a Del Monte cocktail! On sampling - it was not correct. Was informed it was made with “whisky, bourbon and Cointreau !) hence the colour and the taste. Advised that it should be made with bourbon only, informed by waiter that this is how they serve it here. Sent back and stuck with water . They can’t mess that up! Starters arrived after an hour, prawn cocktail and french onion soup. Very nice. Mains of 2 x fillet steaks arrived shortly afterwards, mine with spinach. Sadly it had grit in it. I really didn’t want to complain again, but hey ho ! It’s £30 for a main….. waiter whisked it away, just get rid of the spinach I said - just re-plate the rest. Manager appeared and said that all produce is washed, I must be mistaken as it was probably pepper corns ! I think I know the difference in taste and texture lady …….. anyway, replaced as requested and all ok. I must say though the peppercorn sauce was very mild and the seasoning on the steak not great - but it was cooked superbly (medium). Deserts followed which was ok, cheesecake and cheeseboard. £128 including the 10% service charge added on. Sadly - it’s an overpriced Miller and Carter, with delusions of grandeur. Some plonker even asked if Marco was in the kitchen cooking ! Get a grip. Wouldn’t go back as poor service, food average and not what Mr White would expect. It’s not doing anything for the MPW brand apart from the royalty payment.More

Stayed at Indigo in July on reopening and forgave the pathetic service in the MPW restaurant, but tonight a new low. Staying at Indigo went for cocktails at 5 and were ignored for 15 minutes so went to the bar and ordered. Due to very...poor experience in July and poor experience so far today decided to eat elsewhere. Came back to the bar at 10.30 to be told sorry we are closed. 12 other people we spoke to in reception said the same. This place is really dragging Indigo down, will stay somewhere else in the future with its own professional bar and restaurant.More
