Lovely restaurant right opposite some big chain restaurants. Really friendly staff, quickest service I've had in town but not rushed. The food was fab especially the calamari. We went on a groupon deal and will go again

Called in after shopping good choice of menu , we opted for the Lunch time special ...range of starters and either a good choice of pasta dishes or selection of pizzas with salad or chips for £14.95 great value.
You could see everything being cooked fresh in front of you , staff are very pleasant and helpful with a smile which goes a long way .
Will definitely be returning the guy who served us said they do a good offer on a Monday with 50% off meals .
Worth a visit you won't be disappointed .

Ciliegino Cardiff is one of 6 resteraunts, this being the only one in the UK with the rest in Italy! As a result they serve amazing authentic dishes that taste amazing. Lots of the options are created by the chef so are really unique.
I was surprised by how inclusive the menu was, catering to vegetarians and a set menu that is halal friendly.
My friend and I had a carbonara pizza and a veteriano pizza that were delicious. We then had the tiramisu for desert; definitely the best we've ever tasted.
The atmosphere was also great and had a family feel. The staff were friendly, chatted to us and lots of other customers, and the service was fast (at a weekday lunch time).
Will definitely be coming back and recommending to family and friends. Thank you Ciliegino!

I visited this restaurant with my daughter , the garlic bread had a funny smell to it ,we couldn't eat it , we had to change our main meals of spaghetti bolognese to pizzas , this was because the spaghetti was hard and dry in places , the sauce tasted of a gravy stock .
The pizzas were no better as the cheese was swimming in liquid in the middle of the pizza base , we had to walk out as it was terrible 🤨 the staff and manager were ok though as it was the quality of the food that was the problem .
I now have finally managed to get a refund with my Group On coupon that I paid for beforehand as the restaurant wouldn't reply to my email when I asked them for information regarding coupon codes ,thankyou Group On for your kind help and for stepping in to sort the situation .
I wouldn't visit this place if you like your Italian food cooking in the way it should be cooked .

The Pizza had a good flavour, however, though the service was good initially was disappointed to find that when I placed my order and said to the waitress is it £1 to order chips as it says upgrade on menu she said yes, as the chips were a mere handful and nothing to shout about it was fine. When the Bill arrived the chips were £4.59!!! I was informed politely that I had misread the Menu. To me the Menu is badly set out, and obviously so bad that its Staff are none the wiser! So when you visit this establishment be extra careful when ordering and expect it to be expensive.

Visited here today, the garlic bread for starters was more of a mini pizza that just tasted of bread as well the bruschetta being just tomato with olive oil (i was expecting onion). For main I had steak and asked for medium rare, instead it come more well done and was very dry and chewy. The side salad was also disappointing with only lettuce and sweetcorn. I think they only specialise in pasta so if you go here I would stick to that! Wont be visiting here again.

Had a meal with my hubby on a busy saturday afternoon and service was great. Food ordered was yummy and delicious, highly recommended the tiramisu. Staff were great when 2 family members joined us towards the end of our meal, serving them quickly, all staff were friendly and helpful.

I went today for luch with my girlfriend. Despite we had the starters a bit late ( they had a problem with the paper machine), everything was fantastic!
I asked the team if I could have a pasta dish( basically with seafood ) in a pizza, and that was not a problem for the Cheff. My girlfriend ordered a chicken and pepper pizza, but she preferred more my pizza!
At the end of the meal we had 2 cappuccinos and Fabiana she spoiled us with her tiramisu, me being not a dessert person I did like it.

Visited here with friends. Waited ages to be served. Told a waitress we were ready and she carried on cleaning a table instead and the waiter just put menus away. Felt very ignored.
Eventually had our order taken and even then a waiter came to double check our order.
Food came and I can't say I was impressed. I ordered a chicken salad and it was not very nicely presented and so much lettuce and not much of anything else. Yes OK it's a salad but still .... definitely not worth hoe much I paid for it and the orange juice for £2.50?? I'd expect more drink for that price.
My friends vegetarian pizza looked okay but didn't seem to have much toppings and again I think too expensive.
We didn't stay for dessert and I am glad as I paid too much anyway for what I had.
Don't think I'll come back here

Really disappointed eating here, we had a few hours alone while the baby was with his Nan, and we chose to eat here. We had heard good things and there was a cheap deal on. There were only three or four other customers so no excuse for rubbish food. My fiancé doesn’t like to complain but I had to ask for his pizza to be taken away as it was slimy and raw in the middle, even when it came back it was burnt on the edges and still not cooked in the middle. My carbonara was like a microwave meal. Very disappointed, will not be eating here again.

Where do I start ? I was looking for a nice place to have a business lunch with some of my clients and a dear friend suggested me to pay a visit to this restaurant located in St David's shopping centre . We were a group of 6 people and when we arrived , we have been welcomed by a very polite and nice waitress who gave us a good table with a little extra privacy . The place is VERY tidy and the design and the atmosphere were just on point . Beautiful . We ordered 3 "Salami anche cheese selection for 2 " and 6 Spritzers, delicious the starters, we loved all of them , expecially the cheeses . The Spritzers were very good too , comparable to the one you get in a cocktail bar . Then we had 2 " Carbonara truffle " , 2 " ciliegino and basilico " and 2 " Tagliatelle allo scoglio " . The tagliatelle allo scoglio were out of this world ,their eyes were rolling while eating , ciliegino and basilico sauce tasted fresh its ingredients were top quality which made the dish almost a forbidden pleasure , Carbonara truffle was an " explosion of flavours in your mouth " as my client said . Then we had 2 of each salad option on the menu ( they have 3 options ) and no need to say that they didn't disappoint , fresh ingredients and well balanced flavours.
Then the dessert , the southern Italian " Cannolo siliciano " followed by espresso for everyone . Even the dessert is made from scratch ( not like other restaurants) ,and you can feel it ! . From starters to desserts it was a magnificent experience . Thanks IL CILIEGINO for our delicious lunch , and we will definitely see you again soon. Highly recommended.

Amazing service and they couldn’t do enough for us. We were 4 adults with two toddlers. The staff catered to our food requirements. When they realised the kids were having the garlic bread they brought us another as the one we ordered had hints of chilli on it. Which was very kind of them! They were very friendly and the food was also incredible and good value for money!! Thank you 😊

Have been here a few times now mostly during lunch, this past weekend we booked for dinner and as always it was amazing. It was super busy but the staff who greeted us were welcoming and courteous. We were served by Kaushiki who is everything you would want in a server, friendly, gracious and knowledgeable about the menu. She recommended the house style garlic bread with mozzarella I would strongly recommend it! Food was so fresh and delicious and our glasses never ran dry. We rounded off the evening with a lovely chat with Stewart the restaurant manager who again couldn't have been nicer. There were a couple of other staff members on who periodically checked if we needed anything but I didn't catch their names. All in all an amazingly well run restaurant which has become a firm favourite for us. Looking forward to our next visit.

My wife and I popped in here to get some quick lunch , staff are welcoming and I'm not altogether sure why I have to scan their code and give my contact details (for GDPR compliant marketing I suspect) when they are not using the NHS app!
I noticed the tables are distanced and cleaned down after customers leave, all good.
My wife had the Chicken/Arabiatta Pasta which I tasted, and both my wife and I agreed, was very nice (I should have had that)
Mine was not so great, I had Salty tough Grilled Chicken, and over cooked (or double cooked from earlier) chewy , salty and tough chips with half a plate of lettuce to make it look like a full plate, wasn't great. Ohh, and I had the peppercorn sauce, I have made better myself from an Asda packet.
Anyway, I would probably go back, just make sure I stick to the Arabiatta.

Such a great place to eat! The atmosphere was lovely. We were there on a Tuesday evening and had booked in advance. We didn’t realise at the time but we happened to go during a deal where any pizza or pasta was 50% off so when the bill came it was a pleasant surprise! There’s plenty of space between tables so we never felt like we were on top of the other customers, and everyone else around us seemed very happy with their food too! The dough on the calzone was perfect (I've never had better!), and they were happy to give a take away box when one of our party couldn’t finish. The food didn't taste greasy at all and the flavours complemented each other perfectly. Very attentive, friendly, patient and funny servers, and all round a lovely dining experience! I can’t wait to come back, it was genuinely the best Italian food I’ve ever had.
