Excellent quality food! I really liked that the cost of the steak is just for that and then you choose exactly what sauce and sides you want as a separate price. The starters were nice enough but a bit overpriced for what they were, if...I go again I would rather have more sides than pay for starters. Had fillet steak cooked perfectly rare, with truffle fries, creamed cabbage and Mac n cheese as sides (all shared between two of us). The sides were really delicious. Also had vernalise sauce which was divine. I liked that it had themed decor and very friendly unpretentious staff but with the food you’d expect in a fancy restaurant. We went for outside for a cigarette after our food and one of the servers had thought we’d left and mistakenly took our drinks away, there was only a sip of beer left but when they realised they put a another half pint on the table before we came back in, that’s what I call good customer service!More

Why the title? Our squid was overdone by about that much. However, the rest of what we had was AMAZING. We want to score it 4.5, but it won't let me. We had the squid as a starter, it was marginally overdone. That's our complaint....For mains, my wife had a Rib-eye steak with garlic butter sauce and chips - well, it never even touched the sides! I went for Duck. Loads of these TV Chefs try to serve a bit of quacker pink. Not this place, oh no, quacker cooked properly - I pulled the bone out with zero resistance. The flavour (as with the steak and the squid) was exquisite. We also enjoyed a bottle of house red (Cintila from Portugal, which I didn't find to be overpriced) to the point that I will be looking to purchase it privately. My wife finished with a Fudge Brownie, which again, didn't touch the sides! The service that we experienced was second to none. Additionally, the next time we dine there, we will be exploring more of the menu as other dishes that we saw going past us looked amazing. Some have comlained about the price. I thought for what we had and the service it was a reasonable price in a City Centre recovering from the last 19 months. Some say "I would eat somewhere again", we say "We will eat there again" and hope to put a full 5 blobs up on here for it. Its a solid 4.5 *NOT* a 4 on here from us.More

we have been to many restaurants from cheap cafes to Michelin star style restaurants and I have to say how friendly helpful and accommodating our waitress was made this potentially the best service we have received anywhere. Covid rules were followed well (lots of restaurants...show little effort now), The food was amazing the steaks had a great taste of the grill and the sides were more interesting then your usual run of the mill sides you commonly get at steakhouses and deserts followed the same thing a bit more unusual but still excellent quality. The only downside is we couldn't dine here every night as we had pre booked all our meals before our holiday. couldnt be happier would give it ten out of 5 stars if that was possible.More

Locally sourced privately own Steak House. The meat was very good which is why you go there for. The menu was reasonably priced and the deco is really funky. We liked it and would definitely visit again when next in Cardiff.

Worst steak I’ve ever eaten - chewy, fatty, stringy. Wasn’t asked how the good was despite the fact I had a pile of stringy fat on the plate.

Felt dissapointed after previous visits. We ordered steak which was served with no vegetables. It came with a butter sourse and half a tomato and a small piece of rocket! No chips they were extra at £3.30 When your paying over £23 for a steak...i felt this was well over priced. I mentioned this to the waiter, she said you just ordered your veg as extra snd make up your meal. Seeing there were none to order we were left dissapointed and over charged. A famiky of 4 a starter main and a pudding 2 drinks esch st a whopping £190 Don't think we will be returning in a hurry.More

Myself and my family visited at 5pm on the 27th July. The food was average to good although slightly overpriced it was nothing worth complaining about. The staff however were both short and rude again nothing really to complain about however I was sure I...would not be paying the service charge. Upon paying for my bill I counted £120 in £20 notes in front of the manager. Handing him the money and informing him to round it up to £106 (taking off the voluntary service charge as the staff were rude) and asked for the change to be returned. The manager took the money from me and went over to the till. He then shouted across the restaurant "your £6 short". I gave you "£120 you saw me count it" I replied. The manger then came over to the table holding £100 in £20 notes. "no look" he said, "£100". "I gave you £120 you saw me count it in front of you" I repeated. "no you gave me £100" replied the manager. "I gave you £120, why would you walk off if I only counted £100?", after a worried look descended across the managers face he muttered "I did not see you count it" "you were watching me count it, what else would you possibly be looking at at the time a customer is counting money to give to you to pay their bill?". "I don't know, you just gave me £100 so I need another £6. I then asked the manger to check the CCTV, to which he said he would. I asked if I could also view it and he said no I shall record it on my phone to which I thanked him for. He returned 30 seconds later and said that my table was not covered by CCTV which struck me as rather convenient. It was at this point I realised I was getting absolutely no where with such vacuousness and that I was now disturbing 2 other groups of customers meals (which the manager did not seem to mind at all) so I decided to cut my losses and leave. The manger had little to no customer service and was extremely intimidating and unprofessional. particularly considering there was a 7yr, 6yr and 5yr old present, with my 5yr in particular being quite shaken up after we left.More

What a visit, friendly welcome, seated in the Dalek. Had a wide variety of drinks to choose from. The menu was diverse with a good choice of options, the tempura squid was light, fresh and delicious and the pork croquettes were beautifully cooked, crispy and...delicious. Two rib eyes, perfect medium/rare, succulent, flavourful, and served with a beautifully dressed salad and the House cut fries, which were generous. Dessert was beautiful, waffles with honeycomb and brownies. All the food was of the highest quality, excellently cooked to perfection and the service was friendly, attentive and showed in their customers. Mandatory service charge is the one issue, we always leave a tip but the mandatory tip of £8.00 without a choice doesn't seem right.More
