It's the first time I have been to this restaurant and it won't be the last. It was a Friday night and our table was booked for 7pm. It wasn't very busy when we arrived but it certainly filled up. They have a very nice menu with plenty of choice also quite a few specials to choose on the blackboard.... More

I have eaten at Deane's at Queens a few times over the years and the food has always been high quality, locally sourced. It's in a lovely spot just opposite the entrance to Botanic Gardens and beside Methodist College school. This occasion was a business meeting and I was in the private dining room. The service was very good and... More

We took our family for Sunday lunch. The restaurant was fairly busy but we had booked a table which we were shown to immediately. Unfortunately that was the only efficient part of the service. We had to make repeated requests for water, condiments, and our meals, which we waited 45 minutes for between starters and main courses. Despite asking the... More

Have been waiting a long time to try this restaurant and was not disappointed. This is not a casual space but for special occasions. Smart casual dinning with attention to detail right down to their menu. Short but interesting menu at a reasonable price for a special dinner, we couldn't have brought our youngest as it was a bit expensive... More

The first thing that strikes you as you walk into Deans at Queens (other than the bright green lettering) is how spacious the dining floor is. "You could have a five a side football match on this" was my first impression. Fortunately the night we revisited DAQ it wasn't busy (probably less than a quarter full) on a the last... More

This restaurant applies an automatic service charge to the bill( which I partially reduced). If service is good I have no objection to tipping but last evening our wine arrived by the time I was finishing my starter, despite a reminder to the waiting staff. Not good enough considering the restaurant was not busy; only a third full. Later when... More

quite a large restaurant but clever lay out , that seems to reduce the space around you. Good varied menu at a reasonable price excellently prepared with contrasting vegetables and sauces to give a very good overall experience .Pleasant staff well trained. Tap water supplied if required ,excellent selection of wines Thought the fixed price menu restrictive and would be... More

Great staff, buzzing atmosphere and delicious food. What more could I ask for on a night out?? Maybe if I'm being picky the greens were a little over seasoned but the chicken was cooked to perfection. Succulent and tasty. The exceptional service really made the difference. Well done Deanes!!

The restaurant is very stylish and spacious. It's quite dark inside. We came for lunch but I think I prefer that kind of atmosphere in the evening. Our lunch was very nice, although I didn't thoroughly appreciate my fishcake, not for the fishcake itself but the excessive sweetness of the salad cream around it. The breads with butter and oil...
