Quaint and quirky little french eatery in the Ormeau rd, very unassuming from the outside but really delicious food. All cooked to a great standard. Would recommend.

A busy Saturday night the place was full of atmosphere. A very pleasant BYOB french restaurant. It's the 2nd time I've been and again it didn't disappoint. We were a table of 5 hungry souls. Starters were prompt, warm and tasty, the mains were the same. I opted for the mouth watering lamb shank and it was beautiful. Falling off... More

Recently went to L'Etoile for a meal with 5 friends, out of the six of us only one was happy with the main course. The swordfish was not at all pleasant, it ended up being taken home and given to the dogs. It appeared to be frozen fish that hadn't been thawed before cooking, not very tasty and texture was... We've been coming to L'Etoile since it first opened and it's one of our favourite restaurants anywhere in the world - don't mean that to sound cheesy !! If you want a fine dining experience and need perfectly matching furniture and crockery, then you'll hate here and don't go. If you enjoy recognisable ingredients cooked brilliantly in an informal atmosphere... More

Its a little "bring your own bottle" unassuming little place. It looks like nothing much on the outside, but step inside and its a comfortable relaxing un pretentious little corner of France with great service and great food. You can keep you fancy bling....

Had the delight of eating in this establishment on a few occasions, each time we were not disappointed. The food is exquisite and staff very helpful & friendly. Never seems to disappoint from the beef to the chicken, even attempted the frogs legs, snails are another matter. Bring your own alcohol and you're truly in for a culinary experience.

Good atmosphere and great that it is a BYO however, I find the menu a bit limited if you do no like fish. The steak is fine and always tender and perfectly cooked but I would like a better choice of beef dishes and maybe even chicken dishes as I find they usually suit every ones taste buds.

My friend and I visited the L'Etoile yesterday evening for the first time. The staff were lovely, the restaurant spotlessly clean and the ambience leant towards relaxation. We availed of the early bird 3 course approach - terrific value. The portions were generous and the quality of the food reminded me of the many times I've been to France. I... More

I've been to L'etoile maybe a dozen times over the years. It has quite an authentic French restaurant vibe and the quality of the food is excellent. The menu Is quite limited and has barely changed at all since I first ate there. This is a good thing- They know exactly what they're doing, the food is really well prepared... More
