Called in early on a Tuesday evening even though the restaurant was deserted. Don't know why as everything was very good . The mussel broth was very moreish and the bruschetta got the thumbs up too. Burgers to follow were excellent and all washed down with a nice bottle of red. All in just under £50 which was good value.... More

We - family of four - popped in for lunch. It was really good. The soup and sandwich of the day (cauliflower and Parmesan soup, toasted BLT) was wonderful and only £6.50; rib burger with chorizo was delicious; penne with cauliflower and sprouting greens was lovely. Very good value, and good service. Nice surroundings too. Highly recommended.

We visited Salt before a show at the Mac and took advantage of their very reasonable pre-theatre menu. To start we both has mussels in a white wine and cream sauce. It was a generous portion with 2 big slices of a really delicious wheaten bread which was great for mopping up at the sauce. For main I had the... More

Ate here with husband, aunt and child. We hadn't booked but were easily accomodated due to it being midweek. Found staff very friendly. Food was tasty - I had chicken which was delicious and moist, aunt had fish which she said was lovely and husband had lamb-cooked to perfection. We also indulged in desserts which were rich and filling. Only... More

Booked a table for 8.30pm on Saturday and arrived on time to find a busy dining room. The first thing that hits you is the delicious aroma coming from the kitchen and as we were waiting to be seated we watched lovely looking plates for food being served to the diners beside us. The menu offers a good selection of... More

We had pre-booked as a party of 9 and were shown straight to our table on arrival. There was a nice wee selection of food on the menu, though most people opted for the fish and chips, although the curry and beef burger were also chosen. The vegetarian in the party really enjoyed the lentil burger and a gluten free... More

Went to Salt with friends on Saturday 28th Jan. The waiting staff were very attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. We shared 2 starters between 4, breads and dips and chicken wings. The chicken wings were the best I've ever had; spicy, succulent on the inside but beautifully crispy on the outside. 3 of us then had the rib eye which was... More

Party of 6 on Saturday night for a birthday celebration, think it was the manager/owner that took care of us, very attentive with good knowledge of the wine list. A few starters, quite a limited choice followed by 6 steaks, all cooked as requested & served with spicy skinny chips, onion ring, mushroom, tomato and pepper sauce. A couple had... More
