Without doubt best lunch in Belfast for a fiver . Consistently good despite the fact there is always something new, weird and wonderful on the menu. Breakfast bagel is always the winner

This is one of those side street / alleyway little cafes that don't usually attract my attention. This one did, as I would eat everything on the menu. No odd balls here - although some unusual mixtures, but although I didn't try everything, it was appealing. All the staff were very friendly, quick service, reasonable prices. Really enjoyed the soups... More

I visited at lunchtime and was met by a quaint little building with cosy yet spacious interior. There was quite a queue but this rapidly disappeared. I had the Moroccan butternut squash stew with fresh bread. Not only was the stew great the bread was soft and the whole place was a really pleasant stop off on my rush back... More

Called in today for lunch whilst shopping in Belfast. This is a small place with a very friendly and helpful staff. The menu was varied and reasonably priced for a city centre establishment. The food was delicious. My daughter and I had beef and rosemary stew, a very generous portion served with toasted rustic bread. The restaurant tables were cleared... More

We went here due to a recommendation on the Gumbo. But I wasn't so sure about all that since I'm a bit of a food snob when it comes to food originating from the South ;)...I promise to try it next time. I got the seafood chowder instead...and THAT was on point. My friend had a tuna melt...also very much,... More

This is a comment primarily on the Greek Salad... There was no capers, very little Feta and, unless I am mistaken, no Oregano. It was a bit bland really and not particularly big. Service was brisk, and not overly friendly. Cost of tea/coffee/sandwiches/stews etc still great... I think the stews are the best thing in here.

It seems a lot of folk know The Grapevine but its still surprising how many don't ! A great home-cooked style cafe type place it doesn't really fit into the usual categories but the food is varied and interesting, lots of specialist toasties and sandwiches plus of course their fantastic soups and stews. The Seafood Chowder and the Chicken and... More

I had read wonderful reports about this place so couldn't wait to go. So I went for lunch with a friend today. It was just before the lunchtime rush so was very quiet. Four or so staff members were all standing, grim-faced, arms folded, staring at us, seemingly waiting for us to order. I found them pretty miserable and abrupt,... More

Go here at least once a week and the food is undoubtedly fab. Downside is that I have witnessed a few occasions where the approach to table management is a bit OTT. Could put people off.
