Called in early evening on Saturday and was shown to a table straight away. Staff are so friendly and there's plenty to choose on the menu. I had the steak ciabatta which was so so good, thoroughly enjoyed it. My dessert was also excellent. It's very reasonable prices for Belfast and we all had a fantastic meal. Would highly recommend.

After being recommended to try this place out whilst on our weekend away in Belfast this place surely did not disappoint. Food, service and atmosphere was absolute perfection and I would strongly recommend to give this place a try if you are in the area. This was definitely "great craic!!!"

This used to be one of my favourites, but recently has let itself down. With average food at best and slow service, hopefully will sort it out soon.

Called in here for pre theatre meal - first time in years. Like going back in time as nothing has changed since then. Décor, lighting, carpet, furniture all well worn and in need of update. Biggest positive was the staff who were very friendly and helpful. This place is famous for its steaks and does a good range. Opted for... More

We just missed the buffet. So we went for fish and chips. Crispy batter and nice chips. The staff were very helpful. Overall nice pub grub.

We have eaten at the Morning Star on several occasions and always enjoy the food and ambiance. They are without a doubt the BEST steak house in Belfast. I had a 24oz rump steak which was cooked to perfection, juicy and flavoursome. The Dominator had a fillet which she said was totally Amazing. The staff are consistently attentive and professional... This was our third visit to The Morning Star. I had the ribeye steak, my husband had the rump steak, both with champ (buttery mash potato and spring onion). We both enjoyed our meal. The staff were very friendly and attentive, giving my husband a taste test of a couple of their ales before he made his mind up. We... More

First and last visit - steaks were anemic looking, service was slow and the whole place looked shabby. Disappointing as we had heard positive reports. Maybe we just hit a bad night :(

Description
The Morning Star dates back to 1810 as a public house, but the building was here well before that! The entries were, and still are, the heartbeat of old Belfast.

Located in an old romantic entry running between Ann Street + High Street, in the heart of Belfast City Centre. The Morning Star is easily identified by the superb Victorian sign hanging from a grandly exuberant iron bracket jutting out from the corner of the bar, one of the finest examples of its type around.

We source all our beef, chicken, lamb and pork locally and most off our family farm. We serve award winning food in our restaurant and bar Monday to Sunday, with a focus on simplicity and promoting local produce.

Our bars stock the best in spirits and we pride ourselves on our vast whiskey range. We also have local and international craft beers on tap along with the likes of the black stuff (guinness).
