What a lovely find after a long walk to the castle. The fruit scones were amazing and the chocolate fudge cake was so good we ordered more to take home. The service was super friendly and the outside loo nice and clean!!

As if the hike from the ferry landing to the ancient castle isn't wonderful enough, here is Kerrera Teahouse to add icing to the cake. Beautiful small cottage offering outdoor and indoor seating. This is tea time at its finest. Excellent home made cakes. And...More

This place is at the tip of the isolated island of Kerrera. The seating is outdoors only, which was perfect on the sunny day of our visit. We were delighted by the friendly welcome. We only wanted a snack and we were particularly impressed by...More

Run by a small number of people, friendly and welcoming! We visit every year for the past 5 at least! A friend works at the Kilbowie Activity Centre! Visiting Oban for 7 years for the Sea Kayak race, we travel from Cornwall!

If you walk around Kerrera (and I suggest you do), walk counter-clockwise around the island and make this your goal (located near the end of the walk). By the time you arrive you will be in the mood for the fantastic food and drink. Very...More

The circular walk round the southern end of Kerrera is a sheer delight. Coming off the small ferry (12 passengers and no cars) we went straight ahead and over the ridge, gaining glorious views over to Mull. However, after a few miles we were flagging...More

There aren't many tea shops you can only get to on foot or bike, but this is one of them (and that's a good thing, by the way). The Tea Garden is on the very good circular walk on Kerrera, about 40 minutes by foot...More

Set in a stunning location near Gylen Castle on the Isle of Kerrera, the Tea Garden and Bunkhouse is the perfect place to enjoy a nice cup of tea! We are now open 7 days a week from April to September and the menu includes delicious homemade cakes, soups, chutnies and breads with daily specials. Regular ferries depart from Gallanach Road, 1.5M south of Oban. Once on the island, you have a great opportunity to explore the natural, unspoilt beauty of Kerrera. The walk to us takes about 45mins if you choose the route on the left, about 2hrs on the western route, with fabulous views out to Mull and Lismore. Should you wish to stay longer (and we believe you will!), The Bunkhouse has beds for 7 people. During the summer, we are delighted to offer our lovely new 4m Bell Tent for hire, complete with woodburning stove and double bed, perfect for couples. Our cosy Byre is also available for evening hire, with comfy sofas and large dining table, great for group getaways. Martin and Aideen Shields, will be delighted to welcome you to their wee slice of paradise! Please don't hesitate to get in touch with any enquiries. It's much appreciated if large groups (7 or more) visiting the Tea Garden call in advance to ensure we bake plenty of cake, bread and scones, thanks!
