This is a terrific venue for a very reasonably priced lunch. What a great atmosphere. I personally prefer upstairs but it’s not suitable for disabled as the stairs are quite steep.

Went here for dinner last night. The food was good, lovely soup for starter and hubby’s cod main was especially go, they cook fish very well. This is a casual French style restaurant with a nice vibe, in a lovely building, great central location and...More

Been visiting this restaurant (and the downstairs bar - Le Di-Vin) for several years now and have always found the food to be of very good quality. However, Last night was the best meal I have enjoyed there! The Beef Fillet Rossini literally melted in...More

Did not expect to experience such a tasty, well presented meal. Service was brisk but friendly and the quality and value of the 3 courses ( for £21) was first class.

We always come through to Edinburgh on my December birthday to enjoy the Continental market and dinner at this restaurant. The restaurant's location, the quirky building and the waiting staff are excellent. Unfortunately the food this time was lacklustre. My wife’s duck terrine portion was...More

Excellent French cuisine with a modern twist. They do a delicious Christmas menu of 3 dishes for a little over 20 pounds and it is so worth it. The building itself is lovely, so definitely a place to come back on a special occasion

Set in a cobbled street in the West End of Edinburgh, is this smart french bistro in a mock-Tudor building, upstairs into the bright restaurant with so many windows it offers a great view of the street below. The classic cuisine and a set lunch...More

West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in
industrial Britain had their most desirable
neighbourhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes.
Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest
citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind
grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel
crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and
sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along

La P'tite Folie is situated in the heart of Edinburgh. The Tudor House restaurant offers a lively and charmingly atmosphere to enjoy traditional French cuisine. Specialities include home made chicken liver pate, aumoniere filled with brie and ratatouille with a tomato coulis, and cider marinated pork escalope with apple and calvados sauce, all of which can be complimented by selecting one of the many wines on offer from around the globe. Indeed, this branch of La P'tite Folie has its own separate wine bar area and serves light lunches as well as other delicious French cuisine in an unpretentious manner that ensures many of its customers become regulars.
