We had a memorable lunch here and loved the inventive dishes - traditional Scottish with a twist. A veritable foodies' delight, elegantly presented and delicious yet reasonably priced. Our server's manner was unfriendly bordering on hostile, and it appears reading other reviews that he is...More

This slightly eccentric place has it all, interesting comfortable venue, good reasonably priced food and efficient friendly staff. We go there regularly

It was my first time to visit Edinburgh also, my first Scottish food restaurant. I didn't feel we were not welcomed but I like that place anyway. I and my companies ordered all different dishes to share and try each's. Actually, food was good. While...More

My husband and I had our first meal in Scotland here and it was worth the trip. The fish of the fish and chips was fantastic. The starters are a bit small so have a 'precious' feel but are large in flavor and artistry. A...More

Nothing more than a sign and door at street level easy to miss but if you do it is your loss. Smaller space up the stairs, large windows keeping it from feeling too small, interesting fun and funky decor. Staff was very competent knew the...More

Celebrating Father's Day with our family while visiting Edinburgh, we chose to have dinner here after positive reviews on The Telgraph. A small quirky restaurant up two flights of stairs. A bit warm, but it had large windows for ventilation. Interesting variations on simple food;...More

We tried to get a reservation one day and the gent who answered was very abrupt saying there was nothing available. We tried the next day. The gent again was very abrupt but gave us a reservation. When we arrived, we were seated with practically...More

New Town
Suits and shopping bags rule the streets of New Town,
until after dark when strappy dresses come out to
play. This is the city’s central business district
with its smaller offices, clothes boutiques, and many
of the city’s flashiest restaurants and ritziest
clubs. The architecture along roads like George Street
helps give it a swank and formal feel: it’s a planned

No parking in the building. There is on-street ticketed parking in the area during the day, free in the evening (after 18.30) - but it does get busy.
